>autotragic drivers

>creeping along in traffic
>Don't have to do shit because your car trudges along for you while giving you a massage at the same time

you dont have to change gear when youre creeping in traffic on a manual either

does anyone here even drive or is everyone pretending

>road finally clears
>2nd great redline pull
>Delicious rev match into 3rd

Worth it

>he has to shift to crawl in traffic

10x better than your near obsolete manual

Everyone here is a busrider

>upshift
>rev match

ok.

>Creeping along
I don't have to shift either, I just creep along in second.

>he can only afford 1 car
Do you commute in your Craigslist special Miata in stop and go traffic every day?

this thread is retarded, you don't have to shift if you're creeping and you don't have to rev match when you upshift.

>cruising at 35 mph
>downshift into 1st

Kys bus rider

>Actual retard wants to ruin his clutch

>near obsolete
>more durable, way cheaper and easier to fix & replace
hmmmm

>clutch in
>Change from 2nd to 3rd
>Let revs fall from 7000 to 3500
>release clutch right as it hits 3500

If that's not rev matching, IDK what is. You're a fag.

What did you expect? Veeky Forums kiddies don't actually know how to drive a car

so you just sit there coasting waiting for the revs to drop? that's not rev matching, that's being a shit driver. you don't rev match on upshifts you fucking morons, letting off the gas and clutching fully does it automatically hurr fucking durr

What are you driving that has such tall gearing?

>manuals
>durable

not according to BMW, which is phasing out manuals and DCTs in favor of automatics

drive.com.au/motor-news/bmw-mdivision-dualclutch-gearbox-dead-on-water-20170418-gvndyw.html

One benefit of riding the bus I agree. Also cheaper than owning a car and you can play on your phone your entire commute.

Its like teleportation only slower.

They're also offering FWD vehicles. Those must be better since BMW is switching to them. Really makes you think.

Meanwhile Porsche stopped giving a shit about laptimes and started offering manuals again

You don't even have to spend (relatively) big bucks on a GT3 or something, the basic Carrera GTS is probably the best 911 you can buy right now

>car doesn't suck you off too

My Boxster tickles my prostate when I drive it on the weekends desu

A civic with a few simple mods

>rolling in slow traffic in first gear at 4000rpm, then letting off to let the exhaust burble for a bit before accelerating again

lol seriously. this board confuses the fuck out of me

be stuck on the jersey turnpike bumper to bumper after work
>raining
be in an early 2000's luxury automobile, of course automatic.
>chill music on stereo, looking up at the raindrops hit the sunroof
>lean back in the leather on FULL CHILL mode
comfy as fuck my nikka, automatics make the dream possible

samefag here, also easier to smoke and drive in an auto
btw that same delicious revving can be done in an auto, i assure you i pop just as big a boner as the rest of you manualstimulation fags when i mash the gas, the turbo kicks in, noise, the tach shoots to the redline and you can feel the auto shift as you launch into space

>smoking

smoking weed and cruising the highway is the greatest feeling on this or any planet, and yes im an american

>driving under the influence
Man, no wonder there were so many police check points looking out for that stuff when I went to America

>W211
old shit

W222 is a W221 with a clown face

Everyone is pretending until proven otherwise.

Fucking degenerate. I genuinely hope you get pulled over while high one of these days and get a taste of the long dick of the law.

where did you go in america?

Miami, Atlanta, NYC+ surrounding areas as well as upper New York

>they see Ontario plates
>ask me politely if I has anything to drink
>tell them no, they're smelling for alcohol and weed anyway
>they tell me to have a good night and enjoy my stay in America

This, just stay with 1st

>b-bu-t it's too bumpy
man up fag

The real reason they're offering FWD is because it is inherently cheaper than RWD to manufacture since the engine, transmission and often the front portion of the frame is a single assembly. Knowing BMW they'll probably price their FWD models the same as their equivalent RWD ones too for dem higher profit margins. You know, since the normies that buy them aren't going to give two shits about drive line layout and more about the badge on the hood.

less durable. not as cheap.

wtf I love ND-chan now

but the gt3 get a god tier engine

>creeping along in first
>traffic starts to pick up
>tap the paddle behind my steering wheel to shift into second

I once saw some dude on the highway, just openly smoking a joint in his NSX like he gave zero fucks

>you dont have to change gear when youre creeping in traffic on a manual
It really depends what speed you're creeping at. Are you just using 2nd the whole time?

Why are you rev matching on upshifts? What's the point?

If you need to shift to 2nd in slow traffic then you need to reconsider your life choices.

>In third
>Coming to a stop
>Gearbox is cold as fuck
>2 and 1 prepare your fucking anuses

>you suckers will buy anything
truth

How fucking slow are you going that you can comfortably creep in 1st?

This 2bh
Might as well use public transport while shitposting on Veeky Forums instead of commuting in stop start traffic.

Traffic is usually pretty fucking slow like 10kph max. What the fuck are you driving that needs 2nd for that? Way to fall for the short and low gearing meme. Should of just got something with more power or an automatic if you need to shift that much in traffic..

LCD screen dash cluster is still the gayest thing that a luxury car company has ever achieved.
>tfw guages in a 15 year old base model Golf are nicer than the tryhard LCD screen dashes

that's not even my final form

Stay poor

>10kph
American here, so that would be roughly 6.2 mph. I don't know what kind of traffic you have, but where I am, it can fluctuate from a miserable crawl to speeds which do require a shift into 2nd.

Sorry I drive a lowly Honda Civic and not a Corvette that reaches 80 in 1st gear.

It literally is rev matching. It's engaging the engine to the wheels when the revs match the wheelspeed. That's rev match.

If you just let the clutch out as soon as you possibly can when hammering it, you get a gay as fuck lurch as you violently slam the clutch together and the engine drops 2,000 rpm in a quarter of a second.

>tfw busriders don't know how to drive a car fast without comprising on smoothness and comfort

>If you just let the clutch out as soon as you possibly can when hammering it, you get a gay as fuck lurch as you violently slam the clutch together and the engine drops 2,000 rpm in a quarter of a second

Lol no you don't you dumb fuck. I never "rev matched" on upshifts and the ride was fine. Sold the car at 154k miles, original clutch, no problems.

I like exhaust burble

stay homo. Rather be poor than homo and have aids

>muh I don't know good driving from bad so it doesn't matter and also my clutch didn't shatter to pieces way earlier than it should have so there must be no benefit to taking care of it any further

So I tell you I didn't experience any of those problems, and you're explanation is that I just got lucky? I think you're mistaking good driving for autism.

not even trips can save this retard

>implying there aren't multiple people pointing out your stupidity for rev match upshifting

Nice arguments, gay lord

>stay poor
>Nice arguments, gay lord

Idiots. Also, are you implying there aren't many retards on this board (17108314)? Rev matching reduces wear on clutch because it avoids any friction/slip between the disks. Also, it feels better. ALSO, what do you mean by "wait for the revs to drop back down"? All of the cars I have let the revs drop down very quickly. Get a better car.

Sometimes I prefer manual in traffic. Staying in first or second depending on traffic is no problem, and you don't have to use the brake as often because of engine braking when the car in front of you slows down.

>Rev matching reduces wear on clutch because it avoids any friction/slip between the disks
No one is disputing the benefits of rev matching in general. It's just not necessary when upshifting.

>Also, it feels better
I literally feel zero jerkiness when I shift from 2nd to 3rd and just let off the clutch. I've done this with two different Civics and they both reached very high miles with original clutch. You're creating a problem that isn't there.

>weed
what's it like to need drugs to have a good time?
is your life that depressing?

Look cunts if you don't want to do anything then just take the bus.

first post in this thread but here be proof nigga.

>tfw bored 1 hour into traffic so i take pictures of that gorgeous svt raptor a few cars ahead of me

>don't have to shift
yeah, the clutch and second gear is fine

Do I let off the throttle after or right before stepping on the clutch?

Right now I try to smoothly (but not entirely) let it off because i dont want it to engine-brake jerk, but I don't know how much wear I might be doing to the clutch this way if the RPMs may still be too high.

Is it bad to have any throttle at all while changing gears? I'm starting to experiment with giving a tiny throttle when I release the clutch shifting to 2nd gear so it doesn't engine brake instantly too, otherwise it gets jerky as fuck. Other option is to release the clutch more slowly, no throttle, but then that means I'm riding the clutch longer so which way is better for minimal wear?

I don't know. What's it like being a condescending straight edge prick? I get that it's not smart for him to be driving under the influence, but what do you really care if I choose to drink alcohol? I bet you stand on street corners with your buddies looking for smokers to harass.

how in the fuck can you people even live like that

hell i get mad when there are more than 15 cars around me going slow

That Raptor has ideal ride height for discreet masturbation. I would jack my dick in traffic all the time if I had a truck. Just looking out my window at some receptionist skank in her Jeep Compass... Oh yeah.

It's always like this during paydays (15th and 30th day of each month).

It's fucking infuriating as hell.

kek

If he's driving an NSX, he can probably afford to give zero fucks about the arrest.

If I drove an 18-wheeler for a living I would literally just drive around with no pants and shoot loads on the floor constantly. Who cares? It's not my personal truck. Just hope the A/C never goes out because that cabin will heat up and reek of cum.

>implying there's bus service everywhere

Mfw thinking about not rev matching after red lining it through first and second gear then just dropping it into third after getting off the throttle.
These civics must have some nice sincros if that wouldn't make it lunge. Might have to do with flywheel weight?
Mustang gt driver here.

> "way cheaper and easier to fix & replace"
> buying a car while keeping in mind that you're probably gonna replace the transmission any time soon

some people can afford more than 2k shitboxes

That's cause your synchros are gone you imbecile, if you're trolling good job you got us retard

Different user, pretty much crawling all the time, might depend on the location, but you have to remember the US is, for all intents and purposes, a fairly recent country, that could more easily be built for modern standards. For instance, over here a sizable part of the road structure is adapted from old pathways, some decades or even centuries old. Add to this how crowded Europe has been for the past centuries, and what's available for roads ends up being too narrow for current traffic. Even in a main city in my country, you'll be hard pushed to find any street or avenue wider than 2 lanes. Move to highways and the ones more than 3 lanes wide are also scarce (in fact they've only been built in the last 10 years or so). Now move your american traffic, or something pretty close to it, into our roads, and you can imagine the results. It's not because of a design choice, it's that there is a true lack of real estate here.

That being said, it does move enough to have to engage 2nd at times, and it's nowhere near as infuriating as you make it to be.

Joke's on you, I'm always creeping in traffic!

The people here who rev match upshift are trolling

There's no way you can actually be that fucking thick

>drive manual 2.5 liter turbo diesel
>creeping along in traffic by slightly lifting off the clutch
>don't have to shift
>enough torque to creep w/o gas, even in 2nd
Oh noes, it's soooo uncomfy!

>don't shift in stop n go
how can you be so retarded you can't even drive an auto?
