That sounds reasonable, I'll give it a go.

Second for Vipers make great sex slaves.

ayy

i like the premise of these missions your lone xcom op leading resistance members its like a tv show

Repostan from previous thread:

Anyone /Metal Gear Solid/ here?

I'm in the process of making a music mod, I'm leaning towards having it contain music from all the games though primarily having the Peace Walker/V motif for the main themes (loadout etc)

Trouble I'm having is finding combat music that works well for XCOM though, some of it is 10/10 already but others I feel don't really fit the urgency of X2, any suggestions?

Listening to Shagohod or Rex's Lair on stealth missions is perfect

Got some good stuff from MGS1 and 2 so far

Pistols are Useful.

remove

i dont know the soundtracks well enough to help sorry

>tfw no Ace Combat music pack
Imagine if the battle music was chosen randomly from a pool at the start of a mission

You could get this
youtu.be/q1feWsXW3uU

Or this
youtu.be/CEeB2R-outc

Or even something like this
youtu.be/OMiFQrAQ_Nc

Oh and squad loadout music? Fuck, no series has come close to Ace Combat in that regard.

What I'm saying is you gotta play all the Ace Combat games and then you'll want to mod THAT series' tunes in.

INTERCEPTOR_REPAIR_HOURS=600

Is this correct for LW1 interceptors by default?

PS the series has some dank fucking trailers
youtu.be/uzBO0XV6Jps
youtu.be/I2TNic_BpHQ

I'm playing EU and I'm having this weird bug where the Skyranger is just stuck in the middle of map. What do I do?

Yeah. The repair hours is one of the most discussed/disliked/most edited lines of the LW1 mod.

wait what?

pics?

Shame they're boring as shit

Fuck I feel like changing this

Go with 250

So why did Beagle stop his series? Did he get his shit pushed in? Any explanation from him?

He had quite a lengthy explanation. Pic related.

Search for the Air Game mod too. It makes those recommended modifications quite easier to do.

He didn't like LW2 and he did make a huge post on reddit about why, i'm sure someone has it saved.

here. Instead of the landing cutscene playing the game will hang for a minute before finally kicking in but the result is the skyranger is just randomly on the map clipping into everything

I tried looking online but nobody else seems to have this issue. Did I fuck up my long war install or something?

>>Big Sky wants a piece of the action.jpg

But seriously, that's a weird bug.

He got mad it wasn't catering to his camping playstyle and didn't want to adapt

He makes a good case

Not really.

It's actually really fucking annoying because it takes up half the map and I can't see shit. Why the hell do I seem to be the only one with this issue?

Sexy Bigsky planegirl mech when?

He does though. Stealth is awful and it was a mistake to make it such a large component.

It's a 1e-29 chance random event.

t. Jake Solomon

>>Bigsky planegirl mech

That would make for a cute DLC/Mod.

I wish he at least continues the other YouTube campaigns.

it's an issue that can be rectified by balance patching

Guys this is like seriously starting to get on my nerves. Is there anything that could be causing this? Whatever it is it's making the opening deployment cutscene not start, and for whatever reason that leaves the skyranger stuck in the center of the map

>I thought we were playing UFO:EU
>t. Big Sky

Generated maps were a mistake.

When in doubt, verify game cache/reinstall. Back up saves just in case

Does it do that for every mission?

They don't really feel all that different from one another don't they?

Flamethrowers disable shooting?

I have over 60+ hours, and have watched who fucking knows how many LW2 streams and I never knew this.

God the lack of communication between the mod and players is ridiculous.

They don't have to be totally different

I could never go back to such travesties like street hurricane

Yeah they should've released some documentation. Even just a basic user manual that overviews each class and the big changes from vanilla.

...

>tfw you wish xcom was entirely the airgame

Are they even working in the LW2 mod at all?

They're working on supporting it still.

From what I understand it is largely feature complete and will not see major changes.

>>From what I understand it is largely feature complete and will not see major changes.

I'm hoping that changes after the next DLC or the Expansion hits the light of the day.

I just want to shoot down UFOs in my FIrestorm all dayy long.

One thing I always enjoyed about UFO landings and crashes was fighting inside the ship. Large landeds were always one of my favorite mission types for this reason.

I really wish there were more indoor combat environments in XCOM 2. One of the map mods introduces a huge and beautiful house but I've never actually fought in it.

apparently 1.3 is coming will contain major balance changes (while 1.2 is mostly bugfixes)

That's great, when are we getting the option to replace infiltration shit with fatigue shit?

>Bigsky will never crush aliens beneath her heels while waving a giant Vigilo Confido Flag.

how comes there are people playing xcom 1 in this thread yet no one plays ufo?

So in LW1 early on I'm getting into situations where I have good cover but so does the enemy and it's a drawn out low % shot gunfight. I try to move closer but they decide to OW/suppress etc. and it's difficult to move up to finish them off without just grenading them.

Basically how do I finish the fight quickly to avoid long and drawn out cover wars with shitty inexperienced soldiers without just grenading everything and forgoing salvage?

My strategy for early LW1 is to go in with shotgun scouts and assaults, replace their armor with the light version for more mobility. I give the assaults and scouts motion trackers so they can safely move further without activating contact when possible. I also give them smoke grenades so they can give themselves better cover if shit ever hits the fan.

For my rookies I also give them the light armor and SMGs and just go for super aggressive flanks with needle grenades as items to ensure they get the kills required to promote in one, if it comes to that.

You basically want to play super aggressively while you're still fighting sectoids. The instant thin mints and floaters show up you stop giving your scouts and assaults light armor and play more defensively while also bringing less rookies. I don't play with commander's choice so I basically have no infantries and no snipers early on; they're all turning into assaults and scouts. This works out since I chop up a lot of scouts into pathfinders later and assaults die/get wounded really often so you need a large number of them anyway. Your mileage may vary.

Okay, I'll try that.

I'm bringing PFCs every mission in March even though it's kinda late (22nd of March) so I can make them into SPECs and then the SPECS into LCPLS or w/e next month, etc.

I grenade to guarantee kills and survival over loot. I don't have commander's choice either, and I have like 6 infantry and 3 of everything else.

The enemy will almost always run away if you flank them and they can't kill/hit the unit that is flanking them. You can exploit this by setting people up on overwatch/and or suppressing them. If a unit runs a suppression then the suppressor gets an opportunist overwatch shot on them.

Blasting cover up with engineers helps too, give them sapper at rank up and it makes them more reliable in the damage role.

Another thing I like is using my scout and assault in tandem as a front-liner duo, giving them both shotguns so they can get in close to deal with threats the rest of the squad can't.

Sectoids, Drones and Outsiders are all you face in the first month, of which outsiders are the only real threat. And Outsiders can be severely weakened by flashbangs, since they initially lack any abilities other than moving and shooting.

Long war affords a lot of flexibility that you didn't have in vanilla, so ultimately you will have to experiment and find what works best for you.

Once you get a fair chunk of your roster to specs you should take some specs on a mission or two. Having even a few LCPLs is a big help on the terror mission, especially since assaults can get CCS at LCPL (YUGE vs. lids).

wont argue about that

Have you atleast verified your game? Never ever heard of this bug actually.

I play the opposite of the other guy, I make sure all my guys have 7 or 8 health by using heavy armor and plates so a sectoid can't oneshot them, use a motion tracker to find the meld before I get bogged down, then settle down comfortably into the trench warfare with a couple medkits and. Not to say that I don't flank, but once enemy shots aren't deadly you lose the incentive to rush rush rush.

Frag grenades don't usually kill sectoids if you aim at their cover, so you're only losing the 0.2 meld that disappears when an alien takes any explosive damage.

>>One of the map mods introduces a huge and beautiful house

That gives me R6 Siege vibes. I do not oppose this.

There's one dude that was working on a seige hammer to make an entrance anywhere.

Hope he manages to implement that.

Good Stuff.

Seconding this; the downed UFO missions in XCOM 2 are too rare and are all the same type.

I wonder how hard it would be to make a map mod that uses the EU/EW UFO types?

why would i train anyone besides snipers and gunners, again?

ok, shinobi-specialist combo earns you bonuses off stealth missions but every other class is fucking unnecessary.

why even flank when i have guaranteed hit on my autocannons(boy this game really is bizzaro-ufo) and my snipers are so fucking jacked up on their bonuses they have guaranteed hit by default. i just find elevation in the corner and turtle there.

...

nice nice very

>page 10

COMMANDER WHAT ARE YO UAHBAHSDLA

is there a mod that makes long war not dogshit?

right now this piece of trash is unplayable. there's too much missions, vipers can instakill anyone, aliens get free shots when they spawn behind you, sneaking missions are way too fucking prevalent and either boring or broken, etc. it's just shit.

True Concealment
The Easier War mods
Goblin Bazaar
Any class mods you see fit
Increase turn timers to 16
Ignore sneaking using true concealment and actually fight the aliens?

There was one guy who ran through the original long war with gunners only.

All I did was edit out the stupid yellow alert free actions and drop the infiltration values.

That was enough for me to enjoy this mod.

McDenny's been making a bunch of new UFO maps for his Suffer map pack.

Actually go download that pack, it's all about trying to emulate EU's map styles in 2

I got 36 files confirmed missing and now my long war save crashes on load now

huh

When you verify, you need to re-install Long War. Also I though you were playing vanilla?

...

>someone posted Viper lewd webms on /gif/
D-damn

You can get them easily on e621.

Are there any Ace Combat voice packs? Pixy and AWACS have a lot of lines that would fit perfectly

Killing an enemy
>Splash One!
Missing
>Nothing but air, heads up!
Hacking
>ECM Pod activated
Firing Missile
>Fox 2!
Rezzing a squadmate
>Yo buddy, you still alive?
Run and Gun
>Time to dive into the fireworks!
Advent Reinforcements
>Here comes the snow
Getting hit
>Fire away, coward!
Death
>COME ON

Wrong. There's an ace combat music pack

steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=766373673

>>tfw no dating mechanic to go with the 'Explore the Avenger' mechanic.

The game could seriously use a 'touch-your-operatives' option like in the Japanese version of Fire Emblem Fates.

Phoenix Point Teaser
youtube.com/watch?v=nA8qUfUd25s

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

it's just a shitty teaser I know but I'm still excited

TftD meets Apocalypse?

[hope intensifies]

Here's hoping he recreates the Long War Battleship UFO map; those were fun times.

For it's faults I loved the artwork for weapons and general technology in Xenonauts; aliens were just really fucking boring but the stuff you researched look great. Seeing your base improve as you progressed through the tech tree was also pretty neat.

Pretty much. Under sea alines with other factions for a human political/combat conflict.

because street sweeper assaults do 50+ damage to everything in a cone and can't miss either (getting nerfed in 1.3 so enjoy this nonsense while it lasts)

>lets nerf xcom's combat strength so that stealthing is even better by comparison
Fantastic

>msgt perk is powerful
Fuck you lump

I don't see that in the patch notes

xavier, one of the lw2 testers, said he's going to push for a nerf of it

here's a highlight reel of it from one of his newer episodes
youtu.be/XTqpVHgR-gs?list=PLkr09O8z61-oQlwmtjnczgQTccjbZP_9n&t=4943

keep in mind this perk has 4 turns of cooldown, takes only 1 ammo regardless of how many enemies it hits, takes only 1 action point and cannot miss

He's got killer instinct and beo. That's not surprising for a crit stack build

Has potential.

...

Whoever was asking for more terrifying ayys got his wish granted.

>Soldier falls through the floor and gets stuck in an object
>Has no other choice but to grenade themselves out
Oh, fuck off.

turn on god with console and frag yourself out of it

Alright, I've fucking had it.

Each time I play LW2 with some mods I installed today after EACH mission I get a bug when my screen is stuck at the bottom of Avenger and the only way to fix this is to check the integrity of game's files.

How do I fix this whole issue? Do I have to turn off all my mods for LW2?

I've got:
Shepard Voicepack (from Mass Effect)
Stop Wasting My Time
Gotcha
Grimy's Hotkeys
Additional Icons
Evac All
Overwatch All/Others
30 Ability Icons
Make All Items Available
True Concealment for LW2
Squad Cohesion
More Maps Pack
Perfect Information
Xcom 2 International Voicepack [LW2 compatible]
Long War 2

The new ones I installed today were:

Make All Items Available
True Concealment for LW2
Squad Cohesion
More Maps Pack
Perfect Information

What's wrong, my dudes?

Hey, bros, is there any way I can pirate the DLCs for the licenced Steam version of the game? I refuse to pay those shills for pieces of the game that should be included in the first place

Probably

but do know that these DLCs were never intended to be part of the base game
