For some reason I'm really hoping naval combat isn't introduced.
Theres plenty of models and campaign related shit for CA to do and adding tons of boat models is surely going to detract for that.

I'm hoping they tidy up all the old world shit with the 2nd games release. still needs a touch of polish. Dont know how likely it is though.

I kind of hope that the missions you get as lizardmen end up being like this even if it's just an excuse to go and fight some other dudes
complete missions to retrieve tablets of the old ones, but not all of them will be useful to progression towards campaign completion and will just provide some other bonus instead

I'd hate to be a game dev. Every time I improve something, even if it's an effort that exhausts me, it isn't good enough, it should have been done sooner, everything else in the future must have that same level of polish and sophistication, and by fucking god come up with something even better the next release you fuckface.

What do after unifying Reikland? Marienburg is too tough a nut to crack. Do I try and burn the Skullsmasherz hold and help the dwarves kick out the night gobbos while I wait for gifts to lead to confederating?

Figure out whether Middenland, Talabecland, or Wissenland spawned with Underdog. Whichever one did, wait for them to go to war with someone, then join them in that war.

Once you confed them, growth the fuck out of their province to reap the benefits of their tasty rank 5 building bonuses.

It is not, and you should crack it. But if you can't do it for the time being, getting rid of skullsmasherz is a good start. They're secretly allied to burger. Let Crooked Moon fuck up Wissenland til they confederate with you, and only then go to war with them. Same with vampires fucking up stirland and averland. Don't take talabecland, don't go north of the river Reik.

Followup: Also worth mentioning as far as tip toeing around to avoid trespassing negatives while doing this, that you start with military access to Stirland. Can be useful if Ostermark fights Talabecland (Not too out of the ordinary) or you can use it to recolonize anything Wissenland loses to Skull-Takerz / Crooked Moon without stepping on their land.

Not who you're responding to but last couple games I played Marienburg spawned with defensive and sat 3 stacks on their capital the entire game. Even after Nordland came and took Gorssel.

I still dont feel like I'm using missle cavalry right. I try to get them behind enemies to shoot from behind but it still feels like they don't do anything
Is there only real purpose to annoy the enemy and hope they'll draw frontline troops away to attack them?

They have pretty bad movement for cav though and get rekt by enemy cav

More than 50% of the nations that I can confed, have imperial distrust and that seems to be the normal any time I play empire. I rarely, if ever get an underdog.

Which missile cavalry in particular? Some of them have decent enough melee stats to work as utility players; either running down ranged infantry or shooting at or shooting exposed enemies.

If you're talking about pistoliers yes, you either use them to run an enemy unit away or try to target the lowest armor enemy unit on the battlefield. Except any other ranged unit since they will also fuck you up.

Bad movement?
They're faster than regular squigs and don't charge as deeply into formations so they're easier to cycle unless it got changed

their role is flexibility. jack of all trades while being not as good as specialists. You can bait enemy cav out of the fight, if you don't have to do that you can charge skirmishers, if you don't have to do that you can get behind the infantry and start unloading, and if you don't have to do that you run down routed enemies. Just having one or two of them is nice to fill in any gaps that other specialized units are too busy to at any given moment.

I always try to check diplomacy affixes on turn 1 with empire, and if a valuable province doesn't have underdog I'll break the NAP with Mannlet as soon as I can so I can gank his gold mine worry free.

Can anyone confirm that All Tabletop Lords works with SFO and is balanced for it?

Like if it works and it turns out savage orc warbosses are way off in stats compared to the rest of greenskins comparatively, I kind of don't want to use it.

just use gifts, 2 or 3 medium gifts only costs about 5-6k all up and lets you get NAPs and trade agreements to stabilise relations

I am just bad right? I rely a lot on the fact that they are so hard to break, and I've never been a big fan of cavalry.

If you can play comfortably with Dwarfs you can surely expand to other factions. Just apply yourself and you'll probably find it fun.

Indeed, Half of Bretonnia's lore is about running down Greenskins with Knights, the other half is running down Beastmen

Liking dwarves doesn't make you bad, but liking autoresolve makes you deserving of crucifixion.

Micro, honestly. Harass early, divert enemy formations, etc.
Most Missile Cavalry have decent enough melee stats, making them good for some back strikes, as well as chasing.

the strangest thing is all unist that are still viable and good even when you can afford/recruit elite ones

I'm surprised we don't have our own version of the Ancap Ball here involving violations of the NAP

Big'uns actually do quite well on the charge and function solidly as regular infantry
they don't really have a good dedicated cav counter though, I agree
closest option is pinning them with chaff and foot of gork
