I used to watch TV series to get away from the boring RL, now I watch them and all I see is everything I don't have or never will (not talking about material things)

SSF and SC is kinda contradictory to me, either you want to have casual fun and then you play softcore and trade, or you wanna be a tryhard autist and you go SSF and HC, you can't really mix the two and expect a satisfying experience because having no real penalty for death counteracts the "difficulty" of SSF

They do that somewhat in The Wire, but I would still really recommend it. From what you've said so far, it sounds like it would be right up your alley. It's much less about "good guys catching the bad guys" and more showing both sides of the story and what goes on in their everyday lives.
