Anti EV sentiment

Do you think there is an anti EV sentiment not only from lawmakers (and GM) but from consumers as well?

Why do Republicans hate EV's?

Everyone hates EVs they bring nothing useful to the table

it's bundled up with the whole climate change thing and those "against" EVs mostly see them as some kind of government mandated transportation they don't want any part of.

once EVs hit their s-curve and can fight on a level playing field in the under 30 grand starting msrp arena, they'll be everywhere quickly and word of mouth should override any kind of political resistance

the hardcore tesla buffs aren't helping the problem though

except for less pollution and instantaneous torque. so yea, "nothing"

>Why do Republicans hate EV's?
if you drive electric, the liberals win

>anime poster
And into the trash your opinion goes weeb

>caring about pollution
Lol fuck off you hippie scum

Sorry for not wanting to live in a degenerate shithole like china.

>frogposting
lel

EVs are the future
I can't wait for self-driving electric to be the law, and done in a pool system

communal ownership of the means of transportation

i'm still not letting anyone drive my car though fuck off it's mine personal property not private property ree

that's nice and all but the power potential from en electric motor is fucking staggering. Batteries are and will be the limiting factor for a while, but eventually a shitbox with two seconds to sixty will be feasible

True Americans roal coal on any liberal SJW communist fag electric car in sight.

>less pollution

Man, how can people be this misguided? Where do you think those batteries come from? That whole constant mining process is worse pollution than all the pollution that comes from everyday usage of IC vehicles.

>mining process pollutes more
You're right. Electric cars pollute more initially but over the period of 100,000 miles they pollute over 50% less.

Doesn't matter now. EVs are not competitive with low end conventional powered cars.

Wait until we've drilled and fracked every place in the earth and gasoline is $12/gal and consumers are faced with either EVs or riding a bus.

>gasoline is $12/gal
This won't stop people.
Gas in Japland is already near there and people still drive gas cars.

>tfw still in legislation
Please pass.

>less pollution

>tfw a majority of city-borne smog is directly from fleet vehicles and big rigs
>tfw a majority of all smog is from cargo ships
>tfw mining the metals for batteries creates poisonous gasses and liquids that are dumped into ecosystems

Tesla isn't "banned" all they have to do is create a dealership in those States which Tesla is too Jewish to do.

>doesn't understand how battery production works
if you were capable of reading they still pollute far less in the long run.

>replying to shitposters

>True Americans
>giant faggots

It's the other way around. The Jews are stopping Tesla.

The main group bringing the cases against Tesla is an auto dealership lobby. Instead of Tesla setting up stores to sale directly to customers, the lobbyists want there to be a middleman to mark up the prices, in accordance with the dealership model.

There's no need for this, but they probably think Tesla's direct sales will eventually cause other manufacturers to consider doing away with dealerships.

That said. I don't like electric vehicles because they take too long to recharge and they aren't really viable during electricity outages. Hybrids are fine though.

Yeah but not like they do in USA.

People that are not homeless ride the bus there and there is a train system,

That would never happen in the US.

>over the period of 100,000 miles they pollute over 50% less.
Too bad most normies manage to completely destroy their cars in 50,000 miles.

Now I understand why self driving cars are a thing...

Far less what?

You could inhale far less plutonium than lead dust to recieve a fatal dose. Factually your body would be far less polluted by plutonium than lead. You would still be equally dead.

pollution.

it goes both ways, sonny jim

Tesla's sell for MSRP with no haggling.

You're a fucking retard if you pay MSRP at a dealer.

Almost everyone walks, uses trains, buses, etc.
Not to mention gas saving kei cars. Stop being a cunt and posting about shit you know nothing about.

>Gas in Japland is already near there and people still drive gas cars.
No it's not. gas is $1.2/L in japan vs $0.61/L in the USA
>EVs are not competitive with low end conventional powered cars.
Correct. There are other infrastructure issues (power delivery), convince issues (all-electric will require the owner to have a garage), energy transfer issues (it takes 3 min to fill a gas tank vs 1-5+ hours), and emergency situations (run out of power requires tow to next gas station, vs 5 gal of gas).

america is to vast for all electric to be a thing. at best, we can hope for hybrid systems to take over.

They hate tesla, not EVs.

>tax credit funded company that seeks to destroy the current auto market and thousands of dealership jobs because lol it's 2017 buy direct goy we'll raise the price so you'll pay the same but no dealers oy yay!

And then musk rants about communal ownership and mars colonies. Nobody with a brain likes him.

> for the batteries

Try the metals for the chassis and electronics

And the petroleum for all that fucking plastic

New car production rapes the environment no matter what your engine runs on. Real greenies retrofit 3k civics, and anyone who started a company doing clunkers to 3s 0-60 electric shitboxes would definitely have a market.

In my city you have to pay MSRP as all the dealers are owned by Autonation.

Most people buy their cars from another city so I don't know how these dealers stay in business.

Daily reminder you can buy a leaf/volt anywhere

it's good that people like you put up such big advertisements that your cock is 1" long when erect, so the good women can stay away.

>MSRP
This is just a made up price though.

You already know the MSRP is above the invoice price. So the MSRP simply acts as bait to give buyers an arbitrary benchmark to start negotiating from.

How one company determines their MSRP may be completely different from how another does it, and neither may be reflective of the production cost or the invoice price.

You can buy a Tesla anywhere, they just can't have showroooms in some states. These laws exist because in the car boom at the last turn of the century brands would pop up, sell a bunch of cars, and disappear with nobody to service the cars or provide parts for them. They enacted laws that car sales had to be done through franchised dealerships. The other big brands are leaning on these laws as they know they will eventually lose to direct sale, because the franchised dealership model is terrible. No different than record companies trying to stop recordable CDs, movie companies trying to stop VHS tapes, etc. Nobody benefits from franchised dealerships except the owner of the dealership, certainly not the customer, it's just a ridiculously bad system and the prime reason that everyone thinks that dealerships are out to get them/sell them service they don't need.

MSRP is made up by the manufacture
