What the fuck is this Shatter the Heavens shrine? I tried putting a square bomb above the stone, added a circle bomb below, and stasis the stone, timing the square bobs explosion to the stone reaching the top. Also tried 2 bombs below the stone. Nothing is working.

If you headshot them or use urbosa's fury they hunker down and you can mount them mid-fight, you can also paraglide on top of them during the fight if you're good and a little bit lucky. Instead of trying to soothe them (it does nothing) just hit them. You can hit them five times then you automatically jump off, be prepared to use that opening for aerial archery (the hitbox is weird but you can usually get another headshot from behind them, though since they're in a recovery animation it doesn't stun them again).

So, I was doing a little exploring not intending to save, just to check some stuff out. I ended up wasting a +13 extra hearts food item, a fairy tonic and 2 full stamina recovering + extra wheel adding foods

But got some lynel gear, a dragons claw and scale, plus did the song of storms shrine quest, and got some korok seeds.

I'm still early in the game I think, only just got my first memory and the champions tunic.

Should I accept the stuff I lost and keep what I got and save? or go back to me previous save where I had this food stuff. Since I'm early on I don't know how rare these food items would be or if I'll be needing them for anything any time soon, and I also don't know how rare the stuff I got at the cost of them are.

So, do I save or no?

You don't need stasis, but you've got the right idea.
Your timing just needs work.

Doesn't it tell you where to go if you set the quest to active?

Well I beat Ganon. Thoughts:

Cool fuckin' fight. The first form was really fun (I hope hard mode has the divine beasts do no or almost no damage to him, would have liked to do the full fight myself. The second form was almost a formality, big cool setpiece thing that wasn't really hard but it was neat lookin' enough, so I'll take it. Calamity Ganon's design is fucking great though, I really like that fucked up amalgam spider of pure evil look.

Overall I think the game was really solid. probably a 9/10 for me, not my absolute favorite Zelda, but it's up there. It was a nice breath of fresh air for the series, and for open world games, as I usually fucking hate open world games but I'll likely still come back to finish the few shrines and sidequests I missed.

Both versions have about the same framerate issues, though switch runs at a higher resolution. In both cases playing on the TV runs at a higher resolution and gets more framedrops/worse overall framerate as a result, so a switch on TV runs worse than wii u on gamepad. Given the switch's less ergonomic controller, I would say unless having a higher resolution on a screen the same size as the wii u one that already has fantastic pixel density is really important to you the wii u gamepad is the best way to play BotW right now.

What does the amiibo horse armor look like on horse?

You can actually fire the tempest rod and a path ahead of you lights up, and they bounce around when they hit something making it easy to light up the cozy torches. I don't care about the pool of light around link, even with a lit torch it's too small to actually be useful in there.

I've visited the castle twice but I can only find Zelda's room and laboratory. How far is it from those?

I feel like I beat this game in the least satisfying way possible. I found the lost forest early on and assumed you'd need like 10 hearts to pull the master sword out. From that point on I basically only worked on shrines, shrine quests and finding the memories. Then yesterday, with my 15 heart containers, master sword and nifty equipment, I ran through and beat all the bosses. Literally the only boss I took any damage to was ganon's second form (which at least killed me a couple times). Now I have basically all the cool armor and equipment I wanted and a fuck ton of shrines and sidequests left, but no real incentive to do them.
I got my hopes up at the end when Zelda talks about how "You may have defeated ganon, but there's still more work to do!"... and theeen, game over.

If i didn't have to reload an old save to keep playing I might be a bit more interested but I mean, what are you guys doing post-game?

I did the elephant first and each consecutive boss afterwards I was actively noting that I had still not taken damage once. That finally came to an end when ganon turned all red and I didn't think it would let me reflect his lasers after trying once, and from that point i just started experimenting with how to beat him.

I actually hope theres some DLC where you actually try to restore the master sword and hear her voice. I want to hear her disapprove or hear her complain when I use her for menial tasks such as cutting grass, bashing her against ore to mine gems, and cutting down trees.

I have never played Skyward Sword. All I know of it is via watching a stream years ago. One thing that always drives me fucking mental is how rarely Nintendo ever follows up and builds on previous games. They create characters just to abandon or endlessly remix them.
