How do I make Nino kill every unit? She's having trouble killing reds in 10th floor training tower, even with buffs.

So am I right in saying that fliers aren't really all that boosted by anything that can be done in skill inheritance? I wanted to have a bomb Catria or Cordelia or Cherche or something but I really can't see how anything would make them any better than mediocre to average.
