New, 2017 VW Golf Wolfsburg

New, 2017 VW Golf Wolfsburg.
I'm about to take the plunge.
Dealer gave me $20k even out the door in writing.

Talk me out of it.

a regular golf? not a GTI or R?

Yes.
GTI is $30k.
R is $40k.

Too much.

buying a regular golf in America is like buying a v6 mustang especially if its a new car under warranty unless you are crazy enough to modify a new car.

Hey it's still more hp than most of the competition. The Golf has a 170 hp over the Mitsubishi Lancer's 140 hp, or even that of a Chevy Cruze.

less than a Civic hatch though

>CVT
Keep it.

the power difference is small and the golf get a better automatic transmission.

It comes in manual

Buy a used one, there are tons of low mileage MK7 GTI's for 20k

>he can't drive manual
top fucking kek

If money is a problem, get a few years older used one. It has the same amount kf streetcred and you won't notice much difference

Buy a civic for 3k or get a v6 Accord for your 20k. Vw a shit.

>automatic transmision

Hatchbacks are gay. Literally designed for Euro-cucks.

Only the low trim LX comes in Manual.
EX, EX-L, and Touring are CVT only.

y tho

Who cares about the trim level it's just a bunch of memey shit you don't need

The Wolfsburg interior trim is sickening. Enjoy your LITERAL chav wagon you sack of fucks.

Get a Focus ST

The cloth seats in the low trims feel cheap as fuck.

The interior is exactly the same as the S, just with leather seats and leather-wrapped steering wheel.

I prefer cars that don't spontaneously burst into flames.

You either burst into flames and go out like a man or die slowly of Freon aids when all the plastic pumps in your engine blow.

They're ugly and wrong wheel drive. It's the most poorly designed hatch on the market. It looks like a giant egg. The hatchback design as a whole is just ugly.

OP here.
I actually considered a Mazda 3.

But it's 2 feet longer and 3 inches wider than my current car. I think that's just too much.

Scrap together some extra cash. Get nearly twice the car.

20K OTD is not bad at all for what you get.
Only thing is maintenance is horribly expensive if you keep it maintained by the dealer.

Any car's maintenance is expensive if you have the dealership do it.
