Does it count if I parked next to one and am essentially just a faster, better built version?

Sure, why not.

Another, I seem to find all of them around town.

>oh no
>Oh Yes

lol the MazdaSpeed3 is fucking garbage
source: former speed3 owner and current FoST owner

>FIST or FOST
>but never FAST

you kids are missing out on the real fords

fuck off

One burns oil, the other burns rice

i got 2 and im gonna put a ford escort engine in the broken one

I see you b8ng m8, too obvious try again.

fine even better

Garbage general? Garbage general.

my niggas

i stopped by a ford stealership today. I just wanted to walk the lot and see if could find some ST's. From what people tell me the FiST is much more of a blast to drive compared to the focus. Any thoughts on this?

Is this the daily econobox thread?

They're both fun in their own way.
Test drive them both and find out for yourself.

i shall. as a velosturd owner i was leaning more towards the FiST.

Never seen another RS in the San Antonio Texas area, just took it out to TX337 last week bunch of tight twisties and elevation change. So very happy with this car I had a white 2014 ST before.

Here was my Focus ST at Pike's Peak in March before the RS.

Anyone else "stage 3"?

Hey guys so I'm between the FiST and the FoST
I am planning to have whichever I get for a good while are they both cheap and easy to maintain?
Reliable?

I'm in Austin and I can't find a good used one of either

I have mixed feelings about the RS.

A new FiST with recaros (the ST1 cloths suck compared to FoST1) is much more worth it imo. I have a FoST1 I bought used (about same as new FiST) and the value went down a shit load and now i'm not sure if i want to keep it

Looking back now I think the FiST would be more fun, and I don't need the extra space (the dash and backseats are fuckhuge so most of it isn't useable). Also would have been more fun with mods I think. Don't get me wrong tho I'm still tracking/autoxing my FoST and trying to get it's full worth, but in the back of my mind I kinda wished I got the FiST with recaros in kona blue.

I don't know if I'm able to get full on new unless I give a left nut. But I could try.

Im liking the blue alot dude. And ok well what about the "power" difference?
Is it not too noticable since they're different sizes?

The power is noticeably different, but the FiST is much more nimble and feels more natural. Still the power delivery on stock tune is kinda ok, but with a tune you can get more natural feeling power
The FoST is heavy feeling and you lose some certainty at low speeds. 50 less HP, 70 ftlb less, 500 lbs lighter

Basically I'm better off with the FiST lol I was actually hoping so.

And are parts for them cheap since its ford?

Parts are so cheap they're practically free lol

Nice. Rs is the only new car I'd buy

oh hey
replaced my '14 mustang gt with an RS

Oh look it's mcdonalds shift managers first car thread
You faggots couldn't afford to finance anything better?

oh hey you could have bought a new mustang GT that's faster in every aspect

No fucks given, I'm joining in.

This is exactly why I have mixed feelings about the RS.

yeah maintenance parts are cheap and since it's new enough you'll probably get a warranty. $3.50 for oem oil filter and you can find it at walmart.

the most expensive thing I had replaced was the radiator which was like $400 i think? Covered on warranty

I've got intake, rear motor mount, brakes, hpfp, and a tune on my speed so far. Next up this weekend is the coilovers and turbo back

Mountune MR230 is kinda like a stage 2.5

It really isn't guy...the RS is a very flexible vehicle and just as fast on any competitive track I really don't see it as fair with your highway pulls mindset. This car has much improved slolam speeds and times and is a way better driving experience.

The FiST is so cute. It looks like a silly putty egg container.

The RS will never sound as nice though.

How much does the FoRS go for these days? Most of my local dealerships have them at around $40k online, which seems way too expensive for what it is. Seems like a nice car otherwise though (I have no plans to buy a Ford).

Base model is 32k

>32k
?

>lazy ass decided to look it up after asking to be fed
Was it that hard? faggot

Bout 10k too much for a riced up econobox

see
>Most of my local dealerships have them at around $40k online
I'm curious what people actually pay for them at the dealership.

More like $36k and the ones on lots are always optioned up.

Just wait till it gets hit by the Dealer markup, you'd be lucky to buy one in 5yr at original MSRP.

You'd be hard pressed to find one for less than that.
And 40k for a focus is a hard pill to swallow.

I think I was one of the first ones on Veeky Forums with one. Now there's a shit ton of people here with a fiesta st

That looks like a nice gas station.

I wish more people would buy them so ford keeps making fun cheap cars rather than investing tons of money in cuv-shit

Yeah, QT has the best gas stations

Volvo easily has the best mode of this car.

This would require normies to not be normies and actually give a shit about driving.

I love having QTs all over Tempe

Why did Ford not bother with a proper AWD turbo Focus when they were in WRC, or making the old RS from 2008 AWD?

>moving to another base 6 hours away
>can fit all of my belongings (including a winter wheel set) in my car without compromising visibility
>comrades both with a Mazda3 sedans has been playing storage tetris for an hour and still can't see out the rear window

Hatchbacks win again

I just want a two door Focus ST.

Forgot to mention

>FiST so my car is much smaller and has a full size spare instead of a donut

I'd imagine they jsut didn't want to put the R&D into retrofitting one for the production model and raising the entry cost that much further because it was AWD

Which is sort of the problem has with the RS right now, it's too expensive for a small hatchback for the mass market.

...

Best looking, not the best driving. They don't feel very sporting to drive.

>look at pricing
For a fully decked out Fiesta ST I can get a Focus ST with a good bit of the options.

What's the fucking point?

I miss driving it in deep snow. Ontario has too many cops and too many straight roads to enjoy the handling as much as I want to.

>lolconrods

>svt
close enough really

It's not though, since SVT is produced is the US engineering team and the ST/RS is the Euro side of it.

It does not have sporty handling. But It's super comfy and really nice to cruise in. 2 doors is cool as fuck and It looks the best. It has some serious sr8 line speed tho boi.

Except ST is both SVT and RS grouped together so it essentially is

the hood on your 240z does not line up eh? Mine does the same thing... Any idea how to fix it?

No it's not. ST is part of the Rallye Sport branding, not Special Vehicles Team (which is still a thing)

RS produced the ST and RS, while SVT is SVT. Outside of both being owned by Ford, neither group is a part of the other.

VOLVO ENGINE

Gonna find that out when I strip it for paint. I know my car was an accident victim and repaired about 20 years ago, so we'll see if I can unjank it a bit when I tear it all apart.

yeah see you're wrong there bud.

The entirety of the group falls under just "Ford Performance" division.
SVT is now ST because excluding the Raptor, SVT no longer produces anything because they're now ST, Sport Technology.

You're clearly out of the loop so i dont blame you

That's not how it works.. The new ST was developed by Ford TeamRS, along with the RS. (the team they replaced was SVE, not SVT)

SVT had was not a part of the ST nor RS produced models.

THE MK1 Focus ST170/SVT wasn't even done with TeamRS, it was done with SVE (Special Vehicle Engineering) and SVT.

Uh no

Dis mine. I need to get tint soon.

stage 2 for me seems good enough for the effort - i got MAP intake Cobb RMM, catch can, mishimoto intercooler and hotside pipe, symposer delete, 2016+ P144C fix, straight piped with stock downpipe. not necessarily sure you need a new downpipe for this car turbo is maxxed already pretty much

PS running the accessport OTS stage 2 im getting estimated torque up to 285. and Im talking about a FiST btw lol

oh hey, i have one of these

facelift a shit

Gotta keep up appearances homie, Not everyone thinks driving around in a 10 year old design is cool... Having said that the c30 in both versions is fucking cool looking and possibly a future classic.

?
i think the prefacelift 2.0 looks less soap boxy and more aggressive than the facelift c30.

age doesn't necessarily make the design worse, but it can

oh wait, i just reread your post and i know what you mean now.

I disabled the fake engine noise generator soon as I got it, will be going with a remus exhaust to help it out I know what you mean. m.youtube.com/watch?v=FSUPwO0npXg

Sounds pretty good. I'm ready to get a setup going with my SVT

Will be using FSWerks exhaust system.

youtu.be/iC7i-VSqIqs?t=16s

FiST on the Black Mountain. There was no Micra to be seen.

>Fake engine noise
It's not fake though?

why don't americans get the three door?

Three doors don't do too well over here for some reason.

Don't they sell the GTI in 2 and 4 door? It's so funny that was Ford's reasoning but the seats in the back of the FiST are pretty much useless for any reasonably sized adult.

It's 5 door only now.
3 door is kill in the us.
Makes the GTI look weird, though that might just be me.

How about FoSVT?

Acceptable.

I fit 5 full sized adults in my FiST. It's not comfy but for a short drive, it's fine. 3 fit pretty comfortably.

Okay then one of the driver or the guy behind him must have been a manlet. I'm 5"8 and my drivers seat is almost all the way back and I have a friend who's 6'2 and has a FiST and his drivers seat is literally all the way back touching the backseat bench.
