Well, when Toriel suffered a critical, she straight up died. Asgore was still alive with 1HP. That could be the result of Asgore's determination. Or the writing of a hack.

i like the cartoony look a lot better, im ok with realistic as a one off/joke/not common thing unless you mean drawn like an actual accurate real life skeleton then its good for laughs but i dont take it seriously. mostly im talking about the skull, i dont mind more detailed/accurate skeleton body.
i dont particularly like the style on the right side of the pic on your post, im pretty sure i know who the artist is.not really a fan of tumblr artists anyway.

i like all the characters drawn like cartoony characters because it keeps the same tone as the game i feel. i was never into the 'realistic monster' look for any of these guys. especially the goats, it really puts me off. its an interesting style but can get old quickly.

Cartoony, they're not real skeletons and it's a little hard to capture the whimsy of the game and the personalities of each character with overly realistic artwork.

I don't really like either of the examples you posted there, though. Is the right one supposed to be realistic? That's more like Dreamworks or something.

I had never seriously considered characters outside of Frisk, Chara, or Asriel for the trap. Currently the chart has Asriel taking the role as I know that Frisk and Chara have been depicted as both sexes often enough, but having additional input is nice since I'm well aware that I'm biased towards that in the first place.

That said, Papyrus as a trap sounds interesting. I mean, unless if you were really intimate with sexual dimorphism in skeletons, how would you even know?

The less you feel you understand someone, the more polite and generic you should be, and if you think you start to understand them more, ask what they'd think of an idea of yours.
People often spout bullshit about expressing what's "comfortable" for you but fuck that, just limit your expressions to the sort of thing you think they might like. That way you learn to deal and get along with people vastly different from yourself.
