Not him, but during the night time I like listening to spark in the dark, I need your love, speedway,everybody's warming and 1.2.3.4 Fire! while cruising.They give off a nice comfy feel.

Was Gas even a Eurobeat song?

Yes, he was featured on the Super Eurobeat comps and if you google him everything he's done is on a eurobeat website. Most of the guys music has to do with racing or driving too.

But he usually includes guitars and guitar solos which isn't really a common thing

I thought it was fairly common. No One Sleep In Tokyo features a guitar prominently, and Spark In the Dark features guitar riffs. I imagined that Eurobeat is what would happen if Italians tried to make Rock music, but with more emphasis on synths.

It stems from Italo Disco, literally italian disco, which had a heavy emphasis on synths.
The rock elements came much later

Go all the way back to SEB 001 then listen to Initial D stuff. It's a world of difference.
