Trash Band Radar

How does Veeky Forums cope with trash band radar, such as blind spot detection and other driving nannies that the gubment is mandating so they can farm more normies?

If I'm in traffic, I usually don't go super fast so it's only a mild annoyance
but when I'm alone and want to be done with my trip, I usually pay attention to the alerts and slow down
and yeah driving nannies are super gay

I'm honestly torn.

On one hand I don't trust Stacy to pay attention so her having that shit on her car is fine.

On the other hand I think driving tests are too relaxed here in the US. Maybe with more strict testing people would be more safe.

Also fuck the NHTSA.

A good radar detector will filter out blind spot assist etc.

>be driving along, jamming
>mom bus only occupied by driver appears
>radar goes off continuously b/c she can't be bothered to look away from her latte and facebook
>can't get around b/c God himself told her that the left lane belongs exclusively to her and no one else
>just unplug the sumbitch
>finally get an opening on the right
>pass her and give her the DA stare
>Cop pulls me over for going 10 over and doesn't even consider pulling over the constipation bus

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>blind spot detection
What shit country is whis?

I've got a 9500ix and a redline max, and neither of these filter out trash band except for banks etc.
Been looking at the 360, but it's still kind of expensive. Does that one filter?

I really wonder how some people passed the test while being able to continue breathing at the same time.
It just kills me that there will be all kinds of new exciting cars in the future, but they will come standard with the nannies, which are difficult to remove, and can't be taken off before I get the car, thusly limiting my car selection to used cars before whatever year that junk became standard.

>country
nigger its on every major brand since the last 5-10 years

sorry to preemptively rain on your hate for whatever specific country you were ready to shitpost about

go back to /b/ you seem as informed as anyone there faggot

I think a market will arise that will remove those in maybe 5 years time. Although I think it will be viewed as equal to removing emissions equipment.

Honestly how hard would it be to remove yourself? Remove the wire to the blindspot light. Remove the sensor front and rear for automatic braking and such.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

>Remove the wire to the blindspot light. Remove the sensor front and rear for automatic braking and such.

>CEL appears
>Car goes into limp mode
>Take it to the dealership, they read the codes, plug all your shit back in, and tell you to stop being a dumb cunt
>Charges you $700

This is why I'll never sell my ancient clunker

>On the other hand I think driving tests are too relaxed here in the US.
This, a million times this.

They should do like in Sweden/Finland.
You need to be 18 to take license.
If you can't drive a manual on the driving school you're limited to driving automatic by law until you've proven you aren't a danger to others when driving a manual car.
Driving schools have harsh and disciplined teaching classes.
You don't drive on park lot with cones, but on the actual road during traffic so you actually have to prove you are good enough to handle traffic.
If you can't parallel park or park around corner, you FAIL.
If you forget to use turn signal, you FAIL.
If you don't look in rear and side mirrors to have a constant view on your surrounding, you FAIL.
The licenses are expensive so you being bad is gonna cost you.
Also, if you don't know what's under the hood, like braking fluid, steering fluid oil cap and such you also FAIL.
Can't start on a slope? FAIL
You also have to take manage handling the car on a purposely slippery track that the driving school is offering so they know you can handle the car in slippery conditions.

TL;DR A person that thinks he's a safe driver in USA would probably fail miserably if he tried to take a driving course in Scandinavia.

>If you can't drive a manual on the driving school you're limited to driving automatic by law until you've proven you aren't a danger to others when driving a manual car.
I don't think that means much in the US at all, when 90% of cars sold are automatics.

For what it's worth, when I took my test in Washington when I was 16 it was with road traffic. Not being able to parallel park and back around a corner was enough points to fail, but not doing one correctly was still enough for a pass

Another thing.
I hope it was just a joke Top Gear made, but here goes...
Is it legal to drive a RV with a regular car (no trailer since that should require a car+trailer license) license?
If so, why the fuck is that allowed? They should demand a semi-truck license if it's more than 3.5 tons.

Yes, that is correct.

Why?

In the US you do not need a "trailer license" in order to haul or tow anything. The trailer (or flat towed vehicle) must have registration and license plates but you do not need an endorsement to drive with a trailer (or towed vehicle).

this applies to private vehicles under a certain mass. Commercial vehicles or privately owned vehicles which require a CDL, must go through the CDL process.

Now, RVs by weight and dimension would normally require a CDL but because of successful lobbying from the AARP way back when, a vehicle that is legally a "recreational vehicle" does not require one. Even uif it is the size and weight (or even larger) than a semi truck. For example the M939 6x6 trucks would normally require a CDL to drive and operate, however if you put a bedframe (or whatever else you would need in order for it to meet the definition of an RV in your state) a regular driving license is fine.

tl;dr RVs (or vehicles that meet the definition of an RV) are exempt from CDL requirements because of the AARP lobbying for old people

AARP dealing in illegal license then.
Why USA still allow money to vote is just mind baffling.
Corruption in it's worst state.

This is how it is in Australia too. But pretty girls still get passed because they are pretty girls.

>AARP dealing in illegal license then
AARP isn't a dealer, they're an organization for old people.

I don't think it's corrupt to lobby, especially when you consider that it's not literally buying votes or greasing palms. The money AARP members spend goes to their benefits, lobbying is done out of interest.

I use my eyes and brain.
10 years of hooning and I've never had a moving violation.

Wow!

t. sperg

good thing my modern shitbox doesn't have those

but still it will beep to acuras.

The only detectors that have "good" filtering are the Escort Max 2/360, DFR7, Radenso XP. However it wont filter all of it.

t. bus/autotragic that posts in just crashed muh car threads.
