dude the car you posted is a vw beetle with an ac unit stuck on the back, i'm sure it's a great drivers car but it's uggers

the meme about them all looking the same is kind of true

It's nothing special. 99% of the owners of these things would eat shit if they tried to get even remotely close to the limit. I'm not even going to mention how retarded it is sticking a shitty plane engine in the rear of a car.

>It's nothing special.

I'd add
>practical enough to daily
>unique driving experience with engine layout
>has enough badge prestige for casuals while enthusiasts recognize that it's not as insane/rich as casuals think.

Okay?? So people are willing to pay stupid amounts for something old and slower than a Corvette? Neat.

The 911 has always been inferior to the GTR and the Corvette

its not about speed or lap times; its about how it feels to drive everyday, thats what the car is for

Stop posting

>muh numbers

Veeky Forums is retarded

Ghost of Ryan Dunn pls go.

Yet every time America comes out with something amazing all the euro's here bring up the numbers. Really makes you think.

because all american cars feel fat and cheap
even the koreans are better these days

Since when has a VW beetle ever had taillights like that?
Bugs really don't look like 911s.

>cucks unironically dont realize that only 0.01% of the sports car owning population actually uses tracks

>uggers
fucking why

The next meme, I'm calling it

Then why spend the extra $100k on a "track tuned God"? Other cars are just as fast where it matters.. Pulling from the lights and on the highway.

oh please fuck off.

You forgot reliable when serviced properly.
Drive this car without going WOT everywhere and it will get 100,000 miles easily with good maintenance. For a sports car that's breddy gud

>Pulling from the lights and on the highway.
I don't think people buy 911s to go fast, I've only ever driven a slightly above base Cayman, but if it feels at least as good to drive I'd probably buy one. If you want do complain about stupid cars to dd, look to the Corvette. Mediocre interior, and more subjectively, worse feel and throttle response. The Corvette is a great actual track car for the price, it falls short everywhere else though. The Corvette was also base model, I assume they fixed the throttle and wet noodle handling in the actual track model.

This is really why bench racing is fucking stupid, you're not going to be pushing the car to it's theoretical limit anyway, by far the MOST limiting factor in performance will be you, the driver. Unless you want to be a stoplight hero, in which case, TCS, launch control, and modern automatic transmissions exist, so go nuts.

It has a RR layot, wich makes accelerate faster than a GTR-R35 nismo.
It cancels uneven tire load with hughe rear tires.
It is desinged to run at full power as long as it has gas left.
It has a almost timeless design.
It doesn´t follow trends, it just gets better with every generation.
It is and has always been THE german sports car.

>What makes the 911 so special
>"muh RUF"
>"muh RR boxer"
>"muh 917"

Boxster/Caymans have a fundamentally better chassis, but the hobble the engine lineup to keep the 911 on top.

RUF CTS =I= Porsche

Exactly, there's a guy from California that has 1,000,000+ miles on a blue 356 so any Porsche should be able to make it 200,000+ with having a thorough maintenance schedule. The 356 was stolen a few years back but it was recovered.

>Tfw you will never love anything as much as this man loves his car

Here's a great little story about the owner and his 356: youtube.com/watch?v=7oxAjgq24Ts

>What makes the 911 so special

everybody loves a winner

>le mans wins manufacturer
>1) Porsche 18
>2) Audi 13
>3) Ferrari 9
>4) Jaguar 7
>5) Bentley 6

Millennials (also known as Generation Y) are the demographic cohort following Generation X (mostly in western countries).

Benchracers will never be able to understand this concept.

base models are into badge whore territory nowadays unfortunately

AMG GT is better than equivalently priced 911 in every way

It's has very simple design, yet aesthetically appealing to most people.
Fast as fuck.
Reliable.
Fun to drive.
Unique experience (flat-six, RR).
Easily modable.
Won many motorsport event for many years.

In another words, it's literally perfect.

Hey, im bretty new to Veeky Forums, What does RR mean?

>Veeky Forums
Go back to plebbit
>RR
Rear engine, Rwd

heritage

the same reason a purebred dog costs $5,000 and one that looks exactly the same with no papers and no heritage is worth $200

>flat engines
>perfect
subaru and the quest for more delicious head gaskets would like a word with you

realistically though, porsche do flat engines better than any other manufacturer, but the only real advantage the layout has is packaging

rear engined cars are an unbelievable pain in the ass to work on, though

>Implying that the head gasket failure was anything but the fault of the head gasket material itself
This wasn't a boxer issue.

boxer headgaskets are the same as inline or V engine headgaskets...

>air cooled
>head gasket

top kek

with enough money thrown at it, anything can make it to 1,000,000 miles

that's a cool porsche though

i agree, just wish the AMG GT came with a manual. or any amg for that matter.

911s are just good examples of the raw expression of automobiling.

Practical enough to drive everyday and refined with decent speed.

Can't wait to get one myself. I have a VW Beetle from 2013 right now.

Same concept but more practical and slower.

Those are LMP1 wins, Porsche are pretty much steady there on the second place in GTE

>Same concept but more practical and slower.
>FF vs RR
>Same concept

...

did you read my post?

"good examples of the raw expression of automobiling"

Have you driven a current gen vw with the 2.0T engine?

No because I don't drive FF economy cars with torsion suspension

The RR layout and boxer engine (and nevermind the goofy look) makes the 911 much less than literally perfect, and that's the charm.

because it offers the experience no other car does due to the engine being in the rear
fuckretarded design if i may add

inb4 anybody claims it has excellent performance - yeah, if you throw enough money anything can be fast, even a shitty civic

honestly, pick a cayman if you want a porsche

Since last year Porsche are getting from worse to worse performance wise. They almost lost to Toyota in LMP1 and they will surely lose this year, while at GTE they finished second behind Ford GT and I call they will lose to Aston Martin this weekend. And let's not forget Blancpain, Lamborghini is dominating the competition.

215 hp pulling a 5.7 second 0-60 is econobox now????
Ok kiddo.

Porsche doesn't even do the best looking porsche anymore

I've owned all sorts of Porsches aside from 911s. 968, 928, 944 and even a 718 (the open wheeler, not the new one).

The 911 doesn't do it for me. I'm not a massive Porsche fan, but I loved the 928 and even the 944 had its moments. Every time I've drove a 911, or spoken to someone who has one, it's been completely lackluster. At first I thought it was bad examples, or me not being good enough to get the most out of it, but regardless of the model or age or situation I have driven one I've felt the same.

The only road going Porsche that I haven't owned that does anything for me is the 959. Every 911 ever made could cease to exist and I wouldn't care in the slightest, but I'd give a lot for a 959.

Oh wow VW strapped a turbo to an economy car
Not like the Japanese didn't do that already in the 90s
Or that it changes the fact that your engine and transaxle are in the wrong place entirely

Again have you even been in or seen the car you are criticizing. The Interior is beautiful, the engine is peppy, people compliment it regularly.

It cost more than an econobox.

What about this is so difficult for you to understand?

Oh you fucking got me I don't drive a 15 year old BMW that needs something fixed every 2 seconds.

Piss of mate

>Lamborghini is dominating the competition.
but Porsche owns VAG and VAG owns Lamborghini, so ...

>rear engined cars are an unbelievable pain in the ass to work on,

what are you basing this on? my experience has been quite the opposite

>tfw nothing will love you as much as this man loves his car

Some of the best resale values and they're decently attainable. The right ones will appreciate even.

All of my want

The Bentley Gold Coast dealership in downtown Chicago has a lovely black on black 930 Flachbau.

Here's a link: bentleygoldcoast.com/1979-porsche-930-c-4360.htm?make=PORSCHE&model=930&

I wonder if my erection would interfere with the steering.

pretty gay if it doesn't

how did I know it was going to be petrolicious

the only thing I like them for is their rally videos on facebook

lel

911 community is just angry Boomers that put the Corvette Boomers to shame in their retardation.

I know most of Veeky Forums was in diapers at the time but never forget the mega ASSHURT over the 996's headlights.

love these old ads

i shall post these which i found aesthetically pleasing

>replying to op instead of previous post

>y-you're overcompensating! Small peepee haha!!1
Jokes on them I'm a woman

Im gay

i love the porsche 911 so mich because its named after my favorite holiday

9.11.1973?

having a small penis does not make you a woman, user.

I will never understand the "nice things = overcompensating" meme

Like most married men are allowed to still have nice things by their wives so you can't even say "muh mythical cucked crossover numale".

is it just poor people? poor people can still buy an older one.

guessing it's mostly jealousy

t. Shitbox owner

It's the because they are the only sports car you can daily drive with zero problems

reminder cuck

Well, it started out pretty bad, but got much better than the socialist countrys.

It's a great video and story...I used to be a huge Petrolicious fan but now almost every video is just ego stroking which irritates me so I no longer watch them.

>it got much better
because most of his policies were disregarded when he left

A new economic policy doesn´t have a instant effect, it takes a few years for it to realy effect the economy.
