The game's population has been fairly stable for about a year now- player turnover is being offset by new players coming in.

Every thread after it reaches a certain age starts talking like it's the end of the world and the game's death is imminent. WoW threads have been like that since before Veeky Forums was a thing, Granblue threads are like that, these threads are like that. Take it with a grain of salt.

Clearly, there are plenty of whales still manning their harpoons every time a shiny new player comes along, so I don't think a shutdown announcement is imminent.

Still, BB needs to find a way to promote the game harder to bring in new players. I've played plenty of waifu hunting mobages in my time, and this one is still one of the better among them, and has some of the cutest waifus.

Granblue still has the best waifus though... But fuck all those limited event characters and rigged as fuck gachas.
