In the last game the digimon had orange outlines on digital world maps (and in battles) as a reference to Our War Game's art style. This game doesn't seem to have them.

Oh boy, I'm not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, I did enjoy and like CS. On the other, there were issues that still left it as a "play once and never again" type of game for me due to a couple of gameplay issues.

1. Set stats for each digimon - This right here pissed me off big time. Doesn't matter how much time and effort you put into your digimon, it'll always have the same level of strength forever, and might even get screwed if yours isn't one of the chosen ones who get super high stats. I know the stats aren't really what made certain digimon stronger or even broken, it was their special moves (fucking Lilithmon), but even still, your favorite digimon might have a good attack but not be able to back it up with good stats, even with farm boosting, and that bothered me.

2. Battles revolve around turn order control - I don't mind turn based battles, they're not my favorite but I can live with them. What I don't like is a turn based system where a large portion of the fight is controlling the turn order, and if you can't manage to do that then you sit there doing nothing while your team gets wasted. I just found it super frustrating.

CS is the only Story game I've played, sadly, so I dunno if things were like this in previous Story games, but honestly I just hope they don't use the exact same stuff from CS in the sequel or else it might end up as another "play once and never again" game for me, which I absolutely do not want because I love Digimon.

Can't even do that with CS because it's a pirated copy with henkaku and my firmware is frozen at 3.60

Even then the sad thing about CS was that you can't even battle friends unless you're local or get lucky with random online battles. Hopefully HaMe has lobbies.

How so? Like I said, I hadn't played any of the previous Story games. I personally dislike having set stats in most games with a stats system. I like being able to train up whatever the dick and it makes it feel more fun to me watching my little critters get stronger and stronger the more effort I put into them.

Because it ruined pvp. It brought everything to maxing resistances, stats, and getting the best skills which was even more limiting than what CS does.
It also makes the game more about grinding than about strategy and item use as it allows you to bruteforce your way through things.

I never quite got used to rust tyranomon powerwalking through the air at mach 5 in those segments

N0 music is miles better than redigitize. Redigitize repeat too much of the same monotonous tone. I can't brain myself anymore after listening hours of gym music. Games is alright tho. Wait for decode translation.
