A sec helmet is like a biker helmet, you try and do your job without it and everything will go wrong alongside people thinking you are a massive idiot user. Be realistic, riot gear is proper armor you shouldn't be using in green, a helmet however should never leave your head unless shit has really gone south and you need protection/air is fucked.

Lets be real here, in a space station, where shit like the sun and sweating isnt a big concern compared to more down to earth sort of situations and planing, using a helmet when security makes sense seeing as people always go for the head, if things like portability, sweating and so on didn't happen irl either youd see police with helmets too.

Last time we were on the same engineering crew I asked them to cool some plasma and they did it without having to be taught or bitching and moaning about it. That's all it takes, just know how to do your job. They also did an interesting valve AAC script for air to distro which was nice and surprisingly few people know how to do this.

Also damn it's like when I talk into radio it's nice to get people who understand what you're talking about. If I want to complain about what a hassle it is to deconstruct an APC or how you always forget the order on unparking a nuke it's nice to have people understand what you're talking about.
