I've only driven manuals before and thought the whole autotragic thing was a meme, but I got a new car that is automatic and when I need to accelerate, there's a lengthy time before it downshifts and actually applies the throttle. What can I do to go around this (driving technique wise, not looking for mods or whatever)? Do I just put it into manual mode and accelerate earlier?
