Is the PC port of this bad for anyone else?

It just is running really poorly for me. And it doesn't seem like THAT graphically intensive a game.

And even just changing stuff like anti-aliasing and shadow quality caused it to lock up for me.

Also I really don't like that alt tab windows the game instead of minimizing it, especially since theres no borderless windowed option

I don't think current Tales fans have been around long enough to be offended by that.

if you liked automata you should try to play the first nier at somepoint. while automata is a good standalone experience, there are some moments that hit really hard if you had played the first.

and as a standalone game nier is incredible in its own right. gameplay isnt the best, but the story is magnificent and potent.

Cause the weapons use high densities of maso from qb and/or angelus and maso itself is almost entirely non-existent at this stage due to the android cleanup effort to make earth habitable by humans.
We've managed to digitize magic to an extent but its nowhere near as potent as straight from the source maso powered shit.

Tl;dr emil is using low-tech shit but its super packed with obscenely powerful magic whereas androids use high-technology piggybacking lowlowlow magic principles to function.

Does the story pick up after ending A? I didn't have the same emotional attachment I had to the story like I did with Nier or dg. The characters just aren't as good. Adam and Eve were really awful. Everyone in Nier was awesome, even the book that followed you. I understand the game is about developing consciousness and character, so I'm hoping it's all towards to where I'm heading

They have the genetic info for the gestalts so they COULD make replicants.
Only issue with this is in Nier-verse a replicant without a soul existing somewhere that its paired with won't come out alive. Its not like a clone where it just pops out alive and well and they can't actively make souls/gestalts.

Worst case scenario: they do try replicants and they piggyback off the acquired gestalt info on machine cores/the network then we have the blackscrawl and doublemurder all over again.

Best case scenario: SOMEHOW(apparently this shit is hard) you make an actually diverse clone system and somehow god gives the okay as well on this project so they come out with actual souls though his whole gig is humans are cosmic cancer so you should die so this is almost entirely unlikely.
