Back in 13 (autumn babby) we used cup mode, but we also had to use GPT (oh god this is going back a while) so that we could freely select stadiums, balls, ref kits and other shit. Most of the same limitations are present in 17, you can select one ball type for a whole cup (including random, which is different per match), and stadiums being selected by PES automatically (this may be possible to rig by setting both teams home stadium as konami in the editfile, IDK). Another thing that came into play in full cup mode was injuries, and the terrible crime that was resting medals (I'm looking at you, /mlp/, I'm still salty over that shit).

I still think the limitations can be worked around for one match, on-stream cutscenes for finals was cool as shit back in the day.

A manager should always try to win every match. To intentionally lose to get a personal preference met is bullshit and should be banned. From memory some people said SDA tried to throw the autumn 16 fetus. He didn't, he just has some odd ideas about PES tactics. Looks the same from the outside I guess, but it's all about the intent.

I don't know about that user. I think the whole "put your faith in another team's hands" is just a result of the fact that certain games have to be played out before others, so some games become more "consequential". Just thinking in terms of a team on the receiving end of that, it should be fair to expect 50/50 for your security rather than 100% confirmed defeat because people wanted to spite you. It doesn't seem fair to the cup and especially the team who was on the receiving end because teams who don't deserve to make knockouts may, and teams who deserve to make knockouts may not.

I agree with this, however this is very impractical in terms of being able to stream every game and give them both the same love by whoever is replacing Bors. So, it should just be "don't throw and if we catch you, you get permabanned for doing your team, another team, and the whole cup a disservice.

General upholding of sportsmanship should be encouraged, but proving someone threw a match is next to impossible unless the manager is a complete retard.

That's the case for most of it. Sockpuppeting is the same way - we'd have no way of knowing if a banned manager was making tactics for another team unless they had thick skin and bitched about it in /4ccg/.

do you mean LIVE or do you mean in one of those "time machine" comfy streams where they show old matches?

I don't like the idea of having 2 LIVE matches done at the same time cause then there will always be another match competing for your attention during the group stage finals.

However having some kind of experimental parallel time machine stream might be interesting for past group stage finals.
