The AoG is the hardest part of the conquest of China since its early enough that you dont have a million units yet.
One of the follow up event involves you giving a lot of money and take a dissent hit to keep the 2 best tech teams and a bit of IC. Not sure what the other choice does probably nothing good since if you dont get the AoGs tech teams you will never get a good naval team.
