i seriously wish some art/philo ppl take a look at what automata is; it basically summarizes all of western philosophy up to postmodernism in the context of a crazy video game i've been reconsidering stuff i've read from beauvoir, sartre, nietzsche, hegel etc. there's SO MUCH. i've never looked at transhumanism, existentialism, suicide, theology, feminism, gender, art, and so many others the same way after it. it's such a liberating game: people have especially been praising the representation of sexuality in the game with the operator characters. i think everyone can play this game and see something that reflects them, touches them, makes them feel more involved than many works of art

it might sound ridiculous reading these tweets and you might go "so you're going to say that NieR: Automata is the most important artwork "that represents us in today's postmodernist times and go beyond even the concet of literature". yep, that's what i'm saying.

NieR: Automata is the despair of everything -- the totality of everything wrong with society -- that inspires people to hope in the end. there may be trouble in understanding gender, sexuality, politics, technology etc. but we can shoulder the weight of the world together. it's a plea to strive together in the midst of this despair so nobody will have regrets; i cannot stress how important it is as a reflection. it may be the most antihumanist story to reveal how much contradictions we have as human beings and yet it reminds us we're humans we're bags of shit and the game examines that; that's why we need each other after this realization to find a better future. even if the eternal recurrence is real & we are trapped in the same narrative/social construction of reality to the point it's meaningless, striving for a better future because of our completionist attitudes is the only thing we can do and we'll have no regrets from this.

So I just got ending D and unlocked chapter select.
While looking through it it shows that I have unfinished quests in a lot of chapters as 2B, but when I load up a chapter that says "2B 2/4" for example, I don't actually have any quest markers on the map anywhere.
How can I tell what's left?

Holding attack is taunt increases yours and the enemies attack power there're also taunt chips for more attack power. The slide doesn't do much except for knockback resitance as far as i can tell

You'll have to explore. Some quests are only available when meeting certain conditions, and at least one isn't shown via a red dot.

Real talk though: What is the timeframe we are talking with Automata? Like does it take place over days? Weeks?

Every time I think this game has shown me all it can I discover something new.

The fact you can hack enemies, create small robot armies under your control whilst also having the ability to use an enemy's entire moveset all the way from a stubby to a goddamn drill-snake.

And this is just...in the game. It's just there. Like the fact I can jump into a quadraped robot and run around the map at my leisure is just normal and to be expected, no biggie.

This game is next fucking level, christ almighty.

Query: Why does Unit No.171713804A listen to /v/?

So I noticed there's someone kneeling on the broken overpass in the tower area, but when you actually get there there's no one there anymore.

I've tried it multiple times, and that kneeling person is always there when I run along the overpass from the crater side towards the tower side.
This is on route C as 9S.
Is this a bug or am I missing something?

atm normal seems too easy and hard seems too difficult. I have only just got to the desert so idk could get harder

Hard, just be sure to get Def+HP chips.

I played on normal for the most part. Had lots of fun. Got to the start of route C, got frustrated as fuck by EMP's and switched to easy and let the game autoplay for me because at that point I just wanted to finish the story
