I now realize why sportbike riders hate cruiser pirates.

You're both posers, but only one is fast.

You shame and disrespect us all with this cruel representation of motorcyclists, OP.

Shame. Shame on you. A pox on any Ural rider. I hope a fucking Ural rider passes you on the highway and drops a musketball from his (her) pocket and it fucking blows out your fucking radiator, fucking nerd.

Everyone hates MCs. Everyone hates group wheelie sessions aka group rides with sportbikes.

Some people get confused and hate literally everyone on a bike that reminds then of one of those things unless it is their bike.

Cruiser pirates?

>6666
How cruiser biker dudes dress, Satan. Your guys, or guys that dress like your guys.

You should know, Prince of The World, you fucking with us?

I don't think i dress like a pirate though lol.
But I also don't dress like mr slave either so i guess I'm the odd man out in the cruiser community

Damn that long haired qt

have any of you guys ever been hit by a bird whilst riding? and not like run into it with your bike but having it hit your chest or head or something.

>Black handkerchief, leather chaps, heavy boots, ect.

So pirates wore dumb shit because they stole it and couldn't leave it around so they wore whatever they stole until they got to port so they could sell it. Silk scarves and broaches the such.

Cruiser guys wear dumb shit for no reason as well. They look like pirates. Purposely or not.

Post baikus

I don't use any of those things as great though. But alrighty

Oh man, Nick updated the website and they have some pretty fucking awesome shirts now.

Every time I see photos like this it makes me want to get a dual sport again but then I go out and get hectic on the road and the feeling goes away.

Wish insurance wasn't so expensive so I could have both.

As gear*

You can get hektik on a dual sport too, especially with a spare set of wheels.

How is it riding an adventure bike vs a dual sport dirtbike? I was in an OHV area and saw some adventure riders passing through because it's a shortcut between a couple highways. They weren't hauling ass by any means but it definitely seemed fun to have the power of a larger engine

Yeah I do a decent amount of long highway trips too though and I like the comparatively low maintenance of street bikes.

That said my next bike will probably be more off-road oriented.

...

you cant get into the same stuff you can with a small bike but the ride is much smoother on my AT than either of my dualsports. theyre pretty easy to handle when traction is reasonable but the weight really shows when you slow down you can clear two track trails and roads with a lot more speed than youd expect and if you have some real balls they can hammer it out in the desert too.
i like the posture and overall feel of dualsports so adv bikes just feel good to me

What the fuck is a "stage 7 jet kit"? I was just reading forums and people mentioned different stages of jet kits. Doesn't make sense at all. Either your carbs are jetted right or they're not. I don't know where the stages come in.

>he doesn't know

It looked really fun and I've seen that Icon video of the guys on the Triupmh Tigers and was surprised how far those bikes can go given how heavy they are. My room mate used to have a NC700X that he let me ride and it was super comfy

Carb jets help in different conditions. Elevation, freer exhaust, and farts in the wind can impact your carbs jetting. Most people just say fuck it and run rich all the time. It's a science to decide what is best. It's lazy guess work to just run rich and just let you ride it.

adv is really just for dualsport guys that want to cover more ground and still be comfy.
i dont have the invincibility complex anymore so i probably wont ever get too crazy on the bikes
my next big ride im considering is the veterans back 40 WABDR rally.
goal is to run the 575 miles of the BDR within 24hrs which is pretty much all service roads and trails.

An nc700x is a literal piece of shit compared to a tiger

...

Don't get an NC700x

Stages are the next level up in price and performance from the people selling the kits. Higher stages aren't necessarily street legal or plain usable outside of a racing environment because of the tune while lower ones are.

Good rule of thumb just to avoid Honda entirely, they have like 1 or 2 actual good bikes currently

...

Most manufacturers only have a couple good bikes at a time.

But everything SuzukI makes is good

I want a dual-sport, but I just can't justify it. Any MN-fags know of good trails to justify buying one for? Preferably within two hours of the Twin Cities.

>keks intensify

Yamaha has an amazing lineup right now.

Besides the FZ6R they're all pretty good

Sounds like you are describing cafe racer riders not cruiser riders.

>tfw you actually get off your ass and do some googling, and discover that your tax dollars pay for a pretty good OHV trail mapping by the DNR, complete with search engine

>Besides the FZ6R
They need to dump that turd and bring out the T7 tenere they've been teasing.

Pls no bully

Post boipucci pls :)

Fucking aids spreading shit stabbing poofta faggots.

Is kittitas user on tonight?
ive got a challenge...

Hi DBT I just failed my MSF course so I bought a Ninja 250 to practice on the open roads and now I need gear.
Are these boots OK?

Epic

lol

Wait... You actually failed MSF Basic Motorcycle Operation?

I couldn't get it to go forward without keeping my feet on the ground =(

asphaltandrubber.com/bikes/2018-honda-cb650f-usa/#more-134417

>honda imports their cb650 3 years after its release

Fucking give me a break Honda.
Those are absolute shit.

How much dick can you fit in your ass?

>still no cb400sf or cb1300sf

I'm looking at a 2007 SXV 550 and a 2009 Aprilia Dorsoduro 750.

Tell me Veeky Forums, I'm coming from an R1 (put 12,000 miles on it) and an R6 (put 4k miles since November). How will I adapt to the new riding style? I daily to-from work (50 miles round-trip) and even wanna head South 600 miles later this summer on it. Am I making a mistake? SXV seller warned me it sucks for long commute!

Are you the guy that dropped out of the class while my wife was taking it after he fell over the first day? Literally every other person passed.

You should probably just stick with the bus.

I love the cb650s dash, its really nice looking. In general its just a really nice looking bike. Wonder what the price will be.

You won't lol it will feel wrong for you.
And yes they suck for long commutes, dirt bikes seats are not made to be sat on, you are supposed to stand up 90% of the time on them.

"stages" is a buzzword with no specific meaning that's intended to sound cool.

They are imprecise marketroid speak for good reason, which reason is lightening consumer wallets.

SXV seems like an awful commuter bike. Doesn't it need rebuilds every 30 hours or something?

Dorsoduro would be okay though

Around every 100 hours they need a top end rebuild and every 200 hours they need a full engine rebuild.
so thats about 10,000km/20,000km

Meanwhile the dorso would go for like 100k easy, it seems like the better choice

Yeah but pigfat

But sexy

the 550 is objectively much sexier

It's a model revision though. Unfortunately one that makes the CBR better looking and the CB worse looking rendering it unappealing anyways.

anons, I don't know a ton about motorcycles but I was thinking about importing an older sidecar Ural as something to get me to and from town instead of a car. How retarded am I?

Its fine if you want something to look at and hardly ride from how much of a POS it is

I just HAD to make a baby. They need to do this in NM

...why?

thats life for ya, ill probably end up having to run it alone since everyone here flakes out

are they really that bad? I wouldn't be DD'ing it so reliability issues wouldn't be an absolute deal-breaker.

because I thought it would be
fun
and provide a nice change of pace

See . Never been on one, but everything I've read just talks about them being extremely unpleasant. They are only intended for use with the sidecar. You can't lean them at reasonable speeds, which makes them handle uniquely compared to other motorcycles, and you have an asymmetrical turning radius because of the sidecar drag. If you do take the sidecar off, they aren't that much better because of the suspension design, and re-attaching the car is a pain in the ass because of the alignment adjustment procedures.

Swap bars / leave stock?

it will stop being fun very soon and then you better love this antiquated product of unenthusiastic socialist slave labour.

>mfw Baird actually showed up to SAM

swap them for what? Cant imagine anything else fitting on there.

Ape Hangers or Z-Bar would look dumb.

Well seems like you really want one so as long as you're willing to put up with everything it comes with, go right ahead.

Will certainly be a fun hoon bike.

Kek

and it was pretty not awkward until the waitress tried to burp him

Just something maybe a litttle lower and a little less swept.

Nothing drastic.

Although it's pretty comfy as is. I honestly expect to leave it stock, just playing with ideas.

Yea it happens occasionally.

>Why do I want to buy this
God damnit

denver.craigslist.org/mcy/6122722783.html

The only color option is ugly as fuck too. Thats sad.

just looks like an average dirt squirter

its designed from the ground up as a supormoto, it has a race-performance oriented V-twin engine and no suspension for dirt.

Literally looks homosexual

Couldn't tell you, why the fuck would anyone want to buy that?

It literally is. But I could probably buy it for 500 and sell it for 1400

Cheap, simple, good beginner bike. Same reason I had bought this and sold it for a profit

Probably going to be different colours when it gets to the US anyways.

>superrmoto
>no suspension for dirt
But supermotos are supposed to have suspension for dirt, that would just make it a shitty road bike

Nah the dirt bike suspension makes them slower around corners but more forgiving

>But supermotos are supposed to have suspension for dirt

uuuh no? They got stiff street oriented suspension.

>shitty road bike

they exceed at hairpin-turns and drifting, thats why they get raced at go-cart tracks where no 150kg+ bike could keep up with them.

lads

how much should I pay for a 1986 XL600, in good shape but not currently plated?

Pic is my baby. 79 KZ650. Probably put upwards of 160 hours of work into her and although I love her to death, I think it's time to part ways. I'm itching for a bigger bike, and old bike life is rough. It'd be nice to have a vintage Jap bike if I had something completely reliable, but not knowing when something new is going to go wrong and then spending a week waiting on parts is torture when it's beautiful out.

My friend is selling his 01 Wide Glide for cheap as he's moving overseas, and while cruisers aren't quite my style, I think, with a little creativity, I could get it to work.

Kawasaki does not want you to change their spark plugs.

>pretending to know anything about bikes when you're clearly a dumb cunt
nice meme but pls kys

Jap bikes in general tbqh

Thankfully you don't need to work on them often because it's such a pita

Honestly, the only reason I didn't give up on my KZ months ago is because it's super easy to work on. Apart from the carbs, everything is out in the open and super accessible. Fuck Hondas, though. There is no hell like trying to remove/install Magna carbs.

Twimcams are shit.

Buy it, flip it, amd buy a better bike.
