REMINDER THAT -Mod Reach was trying to preserve the integrity and balance of the game by eliminating splashing/afk nmz -Jagex's revenue from splashing alts/nmz prods would drop, and so the OSRS team was reluctant to remove these exploits from the game, despite the obvious imbalance having so many players with significantly higher combat stats than skilling stats would cause -Reach's strict opposition to their continued presence in the game threatened Jagex's subscription revenue, which at the time given that bonds weren't added yet was the only way of monetising Old School -a plot was devised to defame Reach; a glitch was intentionally placed in the game, and Reach's friends used it to make a lot of money -having been the rule enforcer for RS3 for years, Reach was familiar with many serial hackers and exploiters, often becoming close friends with them due to how much time he spent following them around to discover new glitches the hackers were exploiting that Jagex hadn't discovered yet -Reach's ability to forgive and find positive qualities in even the most unscrupulous players proved to be a weakness, as his friends did what they did best and profited from a glitch, making him look bad by association -Reach is blamed and immediately fired, his name is dragged through the mud and he will never be able to work in the games industry ever again, all because he tried to save OSRS players from their own laziness and Jagex from it's own greed
