across the board, i'd say. high rank hellblade weapons absolutely staggered the hell out of high rank village for me. it's safer to use strong hitting attacks now, unlike in mhgen.

Then the 3 oo slots can net you another skill with 3 Jewel 2s.
That thing's like a free 5 skill set.

i know this isn't new to XX but i restarted from scratch because autism and wanted to get some astalos gear so i thought "why not kill two birds with one stone and beat it in the egg carrying mission, makes it one run I have to deal with"

ended up wailing on him for 35 minutes before he finally carted me and I quit out of boredom. beat the egg mission, played the actual fight, beat him in 6.

"you're supposed to lose" fights is bad design in any video game it's in, bar none. Monster hunter is all about skill and figuring out ways to optimize fighting your enemies and adding an enemy you're forced to run away from unless you hammer on it for an hour is fucking stupid.

I'm playing through all of Gen single player.

Forward X/X 2 and your A+X second hit both have high attacks, but since the A+X one takes long to pull off you should rely on forward X hits

The trick with hunting horn is that you're fucked with tall mons until the monster is staggered once because there's no easy quick way to hit their head. But once you stagger or sap their stamina enough and lower it, you can go to town with your infinite A-X-A-X combo

Better equipment. More staggers due to lower HP threshold. Double the health tends to take over double to time with the same exact gear as well given less staggers + the mob fucking running around the map uncontested.

Question for somebody brand new to bowgunning: what is the best type of shot to put into siege mode? Currently just been pumping up my arbalest because it sieges normal shot 1 so I can shoot as much as I like but i'm assuming this is a shit idea even though it's been working fine so far

I'm no bowgunpro but from what I've heard normal 1 is like throwing stones at monsters.
Normal 2 is the standard shot for everything

Peirce has been the meta for Gen/XX, and namely 1 & 2. So being able to Siege Peirce 1 will fuck up a monster quick as hell.
