Ford Australia is an Australian company.

Ford Motor Company is American. Confusing, I know.

Ford vs Holden has been such a strong historic rivalry over here that I just assumed both companies were 100% Australian. It never occurred to me that Ford cars got sold elsewhere

Are you 12?

Gotta learn somehow I guess, Google every car you see that you don't know and learn more.

Didn't you wounder why they are shit?

>What is the One Ford policy
Not anymore they ain't

Why does Australia get better treatment than the rest of the world?

Hyundai specifically tunes their Australian sold cars specifically for Australia

You guys even have fucking UTEs

>better treatment
>all of our manufacturers have shut down in the last decade, including our own native one at the end of this year
Yeah, okay.

Ah, yeah. I forgot about that.

It's a tough market to crack, full of strange quirks that requires a level of pandering to be successful.

The roads here are pretty shit on average, so you need to tune the suspension accordingly. If you blow a tire out bush you can't just limp it home on a space saver or some kind of pump kit so full size spares are the norm (some manufactures are trying to push space savers but anyone who drives outside the major cities either options a full or doesn't buy that car). There's a tonne of little curiosities like these that you wouldn't even think about unless you've boots on the ground and experiencing them. Hence why all of the most successful brands in this country had R&D labs here. Toyota developed the Land Cruiser here, Subaru developed AWD, Mitsubishi developed a couple of cars solely for us, Holden surprisingly quite late to the party leaving the heavy lifting to overseas labs until the mid noughties, Ford opened design labs in 1970 and were had been putting out unique cars since 72. They sold Australia's most popular car until FoMoCo decided to stick their beaks in during the 90's, pushing new edge on the Falcon, pushing the Taurus and refusing to export the Falcon.

Australia's motoring history is pretty rich, and sometimes seems like an alternative history of American motoring history. It's sad to see it end.

Too bad Ford AU and Ford UK blew everything Ford US ever had to offer out of the water

The Ford Falcon was a bland piece of shit and I'm quite happy we got the Mustang to replace it

How apparent are Rangers, and are they as awesome as everyone says they are?

>ausland so disconnected from the rest of the world they didn't know Ford was a global company

Wait til you find out that ausfailia really doesn't matter in the whole scheme of things and not really known for anything but abos and didgeridoos and that rock thing.

Does Ford even count as an American company anymore when all their best cars sold in America are from Euroland and the UK?

Trump is your president.

Isnt that a good thing?

Who else thought Subaru was an Australian company? I thought this as a kid

no, once america perfects an idea and eurotards claim it for themselves it's theirs

For the rest of the world, yeah. Comfy as hell watching the US go down the tubes

Then again the Civic Type R I want is built in the UK and the engine is built in Ohio but I'm still gonna call it a Japanese car.

But yea, pretty much all our cool tech get's exported and used somewhere else.

rip falcon

Good chassis for the FG and goat engine turbo barra so based.

As an American I really love Australian car culture, especially the muscle cars you guys got, way better than American muscle (in terms of looks anyways, I know fuck all about muscle cars)

Honest, you're muscle car culture is way better just in terms of quantity. A lot of Australian muscle is built off scraps you guys didn't want or couldn't use, hence why everything is small blocks. We just have a couple of really well made examples that I think are better than most of yours, but you still outdo us at the top end.

Barra 6 is best engine of all time. Everything needs a barra swap

i love the barra

the sound is the only thing thats meh.

I'm also guilty of this.

I'd buy this right fucking now if they ever sold these in the US. It's like the perfect vehicle for me. I still don't know why America never embraced the ute.

You people are retarded.
Honorary 'fuck off we're full' for both you and your families.

ford aus and holden are dead so get one while you can

Good enough for me

Is it emissions? I mean you get screwed out of a lot of imports because of emissions so I could imagine it would be easier to make a high performance truck that has looser emissions standards to meet compared to a ute which would have to meet the same standards as a regular car.

Yep. I wasn't sure why, so looked it up and was reminded that their ads from the 90s we're Australian themed (for the Outback) and featured Crocodile Dundee himself

Do you not know who Henry Ford was, mate? Which bogan school did you go to?

>Australian
>education

Good one. Aussies are the Americans of the Oceanic/Pacific region, and Kiwis are the Canadians.

Guess it's pretty easy to watch when you've already been at the bottom for a while

...

REKT

t. aussie

It's just Ford vs Chevy but in Australia. Holden even used LS engines and Ford (AUS) used Clevelands and Windsors.

they're fairly common in the country, but they're heaps of shit just like the people that drive them.

What about the modular engine?

What do they have to compete?

You take that back cunt
