Centrifugal supercharger.

N/A for life

NITROUS

Depends on the target application and environment. Supers rule for low end torque off the line, turbos are better for most other applications. But no turbo can ever touch the level of testosterone enrichment that comes from a glorious chrome monument to the gas gods sticking out of your hood.

>he doesnt have afterburners on his engine

This for most useful.
Turbo has top end power and usual more.
Supercharger has instant power and sound.
Centrifugal has ease of installation and instant power.

Having to rely on a bottle, rather than having boost there all the time.

You mean secondary air injection? Do you drive a pinto or something?

How many times do we have to this same thread

plebs

>friend has SR swapped b13

>wins againts a 350z and a b series civic
>"rematch dude not fair I spun"
>"sorry man I have no more gas"

it's the perfect excuse to avoid a rematch, and if you lose you can always blame the low pressure due to running low

Both

why not both

t. volvo
having both makes the engine ridiculously complicated

i've only ever driven turbo so i can't rightly choose

Supercharger for dragracing.
Turbocharger for top speed.

what car will boost my testosterone enough that I can look like that guy?

No car, you just need to have your daily oatmeal and egg whites shakes. That's the Piana secret passed down through generations

>his car can't run full power all day

lmao cucked

Both. Master Race

A turbocharger is a supercharger powered by exaust gas, wich is more efficient than powering it from the crank.
The turbocharger will therefore make more power at the same boost than the supercharger, especialy when running higher boost.
The issue of turbo lag is pretty much exterminated on modern turbochargers, therefore superchargers don´t have banefits over turbochargers,

I was thinking more of the Lancia Delta S4

first you'll need to get a registered Power Hat™, put it into Power Mode, drink some Zippy Water and lift. Oh and DO NOT J__K OFF OR YOU WILL BE IN DANGER

>le turbo lag doesn't exist anymore meme

>FREE POWER
versus
>leeching off your crank killing your mileage

It is reduced to a amount where the turbocharger spools up faster than the engine under load.

>spending power to make more power
v.
>backflow issues

>use all your power and get BONUS FREE POWER on top of it
versus
>a fucking hole in the hood to have some ugly ass metal block sticking out

Supercharger since it's linear and more predictable.

>being such a dumb fuck he needs to cut a hole in his bonnet
>wanting backflow issues

>wanting to kill all resemblance of mileage
>not wanting superior and FREE power

why not both?

>wanting an overly complicated mess of tubes resulting in poor aitflow and backflow issues
>not wanting bolt on power

Are there any other factory twin charged cars? Would be cool to see in a sporty car

turbro

The Volvo S60 is twin charged

You got a name or source? I need for research purposes

you got shit taste senpai

Cadillac ATS-V has a twin turbo V6

*XC90

Neither :)

twin charged means a turbo and a supercharger

Overall, I'd prefer superchargers. They have a lot better response and sound better. Plus, they aren't as hard to install or maintain as turbos. And don't forget the fact that turbos make the engine quieter.

i need a source for this immediately

autoblog.com/2014/07/08/2015-volvo-xc90-twin-charged-phev-official/

>400hp out of a 2000cc 4 cylinder
sounds like the makings of a grenade

>The issue of turbo lag is pretty much exterminated on modern turbochargers
explain

especially considering the fact that its front wheel drive

Enough with all the theoretical bullshit. In real world applications superchargers are flat out better.

>10 times easier to install
>more reliable
>more usable power

Turbos
>require drilling and oil lines to be routed
>often require coolant lines to be routed
>require exhaust system to be fabricated and installed
>are under high heat and stress their entire life cycle
>require accessories such as turbo actuators, blow off valves, and waste gates

In comparison a supercharger is literally bolting a self contained system on top of your intake and putting the serpentine belt on.

Efficiency isn't nearly as important as you would think because your rotating assembly is the ultimate limiting factor in maximum power production.

Can you turbocharge or supercharge any car? Like could I turbocharge or supercharge my Camry 2.5L XV50 model? Do cars need something from the factory to be able to turbocharge them or can you just do it?

>The issue of turbo lag is pretty much exterminated on modern turbochargers

this explains some of the ways new cars use turbos wthout lag carthrottle.com/post/how-can-you-reduce-turbo-lag/

just google "turbo 2AR-FE"
I'm pretty sure there was a factory supercharger for the first gen Tc which used that engine. Would cost more than aftermarket because TRD but I'm sure would be a simple install

with enough fabrication skills you can turbo anything. as far as I know a supercharger has to be made for a specific engine

It also creates far less heat under the hood than a turbocharger.

Supercharger because a turbo sounds like a fag trying to run the mile.

>Supercharger
>Literally less power than turbo

You are a cuck if you pick "drivability" over more fucking power.

Google +'d

waiting for power is the epitome of cuckoldry, lag cuck.

Aussie actually.

Plan on going turbo and making 500rwhp+ on 8psi

>implying aussiemuscle

the biggest car you can find with non assisted everything and put the biggest tires you can in the front

launch control and downshifting must not be a thing anymore

Have another image for the next time you get into a discussion like this.

Why do some cars with smaller turbo engines get worse EPA gas mileage ratings compared to their larger non-turbo engine counterparts?

For example, Subaru Forester 2.0 XT vs 2.5i. The 2L turbo requires premium fuel and has worse mileage than the 2.5L non-turbo. I thought having a turbo was supposed to improve both fuel economy and power.

>implying I need your help
I felt that image was more fitting than a gold face

Nothing is more fitting than a golden face in a discussion of golden faces.
And what the fuck is that Yoba doing there?

twin scroll turbochargers
>More energy is sent to the exhaust turbine, meaning more power.
>A wider RPM range of effective boost is possible based on the different scroll designs.
>More valve overlap is possible without hampering exhaust scavenging, meaning more tuning flexibility.

dunno. lemme move it to the proper folder. I only organized my memes about a month ago

You did good.

goddamn that thing is beautiful

Turbo is the best option to get power and efficiency
but if you are talking about modifying an engine go for a supercharger, and a small one. Depends on the engine ofc but on most stock NA engines, adding boost will blow it up.

LOOOOOOOOL

in europe VW offers a 1.4 TSI which is supercharged and turbocharged, quite cheap actually
but I've heard that they werent very reliable, at least the early ones.

the tC supercharger was pretty faulty and shit, which is why they discontinued them relatively quickly after release.

Shame, too. If Toyota bothered to release a Scion tC spec with a supercharger or turbo to rival the GTI and Si, it might have been worth a damn

Street engine: supercharger
