whats the story?

Child porn.

Was taken at Mclanes Cumberland, hope you never have to go there. Story was he mistakenly turned off some backwater Kentucky highway on to some even more backwater Kentucky road. Hit a tree branch going around a curve. Drove it the remaining 40 miles to the receiver and tried to check in. Receiver noped since you have to back in a door to get turned around to leave. What you can't see is the basically one lane road to that trucks left with trucks parked on either side and trucks in line to check in, the basically one way road I'm on with trucks parked on either side and trucks behind me trying to check in, and the guard shack that is around a super tight 90 degree turn and down a steep hill. Poor guy had to back up from the guard shack around the turn, then squeeze down the road behind me. During this feat of trucking Mclanes shift change happened adding probably 50 cars into the mix. Took about 15 people helping and probably 90 minutes. I would have set the brakes and started walking to the nearest bus stop.

Fuck Australia is annoying. GROW UP, AUSTRALIA

>tfw 10,000 pounds over legal weight and see a DOT

Some bluegum in Nig Orleans ripped a big ass hole in my trailer earlier today. I thought my day would be shot waiting on repairs but I got sent to this shop up the road and a pack of methed out coonasses went HAM on my shit, they had it completely fixed before my 30 min break was up. You could barely understand what they said because they speak coonass over there but I was assured that my roof was sealed up "tighter than a bullfrogs asshole". Top kek.

Bretty sure I'm gonna end up quitting DHT and just be a cuck tier tow truck driver for myself. I can't handle the combination of being broke and away from home.

I would've thought it was the combination of working your ass off and still being broke but whatever.

I don't really understand the split break thing, but do you still end up getting the same amount of drive time in a week if you do splits? I read about it but I really don't get how to calculate what hours you get back.
It's supposed to work like, let's say you were gonna run down your 70 in 6 days and restart (that's what I do) you could either
Drive 5 hours, 30 minute break, drive 5 hours, ten hour break, repeat
Or
Drive 5 hours, 2 hour break, drive 5 hours, 8 hour break, repeat
Is that right? You still get 60 hours of drive time over the course of 6 days, but splitting only takes 60 hours of breaks, where not splitting takes 63 hours of breaks.
Am I understanding that right?

Idk if i get close i just override and thug life it

You live in or nearby oil country in Texas don't you? Why don't you see about a job hauling potable water to rig sites. Up here in Ganada it's done with straight trucks and is day work.

Hot oiling, like what I do is another option as well.

Pls Whiney don't quit. What's so bad about DHT? What's the pay scale? Hometime?

Its what you get for being a weeb

...

toppest fucking keks we told you so

don't mind me just balling over here Driving For The Best(tm) come on over and make some real money weeb faggot

>get there and I can hear the fucking pigs being slaughtered in the building across from the washout
>biggest shithole JBS I've been to, reefers and swine come in the same entrance and check in at the same window
>can see pigs scratching the bottom of the trailers trying to escape
>everything smells like death and pig shit
>thank god this is drop and hook
>nope the fuck out of there, get a mile down the road, dispatch says the trailer is out of service and I have to go back
>damage is in the inside of one of the doors
>u w0t m80
>go back, ask JBS about the damaged trailer i'm supposedly carrying
>two fucking hours later
>light a fire under their ass and read the bitches the fucking god damn Riot Act how im sitting my clock is running y'all are on yer god damn phones and on Facebook and I got shit to do what the fuck is the deal here
>find out it was repaired
>i sat for nothing, fuck it, roll it
>rode bikes yesterday on my 10hr
>ate some bomb ass Mexican food in town
>drop tomorrow

I don't consider the 8/2 to be all that useful since it basically means you have to sit somewhere for two hours. I do use it occasionally for short hops to a shipper/receiver when I've been delayed but for a normal day I don't.

And what you get back is the lesser of either the 11 or 14 when you went Sleeper. So if you sat around all day and changed to Sleeper with 2 hours on your 14 that's all you're going to get back at the end of the 8.

Zoz. A little more like this:

youtu.be/W2mSJeE3WvY

I know, ya dink. I'm your biggest fan. Pretty obsessed with you desu.

Guess my gender.

Must be Beardstown or Ottumwa. Those were Cargill plants until last Fall when JBS bought Cargill's pork operations off them.

Beardstown. The whole fucking town smells like that place. Absolutely disgusting 0/10 will not pick up ever again

If you're looking for parking north of OKC. I35 x214 east side, new Valero tons of concrete parking, nice bathrooms, free fast as fuck wifi, and a papa johns. This mecca is completely empty at 2230, I bet the pilot on the other side of the interstate is overflowing.

It's not that bad, it hosted a Lincoln/Douglas debate!

DUNGHUTTI is better.

That's a lot of truck parking for middle-of-nowhere Oklahoma. In addition to the Pilot on the other side there's a Casey's that actually has more room than the Pilot and the Shell is a medium sized place too. Just seems an odd location.

Oh and that Love's up at the 211 is a joke. Avoid.

What's the matter, seppo. Can't handle the bantz?

I fucking hate Dallas and I hate this companies Dallas terminal even more.

>straight truck
Gay.

That second axle on the front, does that turn?

That too, average runs are 1800-2000 miles and it's getting boring since I've listened to everything I've wanted to.

lmao shits dead here, they're not doing full scale hiring yet. Especially with gas prices in the low $2/gal.

Pay is .34cpm, hometime is three days off for two weeks out. But, if you take hometime like that you're almost guaranteed to forfeit all the bonuses. Other than that they're nice and run hard but this is a company for no lifes.

What's your cpm and home time? Governor? Nanny Cams?

This is an english-language imageboard.

>Western Star Is Bestern Star Edition
Now this I can get behind. Short hoods a cute, CUTE.

>Straight drucks are gay
You're just transferring your frustration with Caffeine-Merchant-Female onto others. We understand.

>Second front axle
Yeah, they're for steering. That new big Western Star oiler I picked up the other day is the same setup. Makes for some tight turns in the name of weight distribution.

>Shits dead
Oh, I thought I read somewhere the other day that Texas was busy producing again, but maybe I was mistaken.

What does tow truck work pay down there? Heavy tow wouldn't be too bad of a gig I think.

I mean, I would like to believe that you are a qt3.14 grill or trap, but my natural cynicism tells me that you may be a full on dude.

>MFW I thought I saw GrainGuy's rig

>cute
Surprisingly accurate description.

>reeferlyfe
Now that it's getting warm, these pieces of shit are getting even worse. Said 34F and Whole Foods almost refused it (I think 40F is their cutoff). And the thing was just busted for like a week and finally got fixed.

I just don't think they are built for the constant South Florida heat and opening and closing the doors every 20min.

It's not dead but production hasn't hit the point where there's job posting everywhere again. A guy I know needs another truck on his fleet so I was gonna go buy a truck and run with him since he's usually swamped.

Why not 60 tonnes?

It seems that only Australia, Scandinavia and the Netherlands are truly into trucking.

Rest of the world, please step up your game. There's no excuse not to.

Germany's working on it, we legalized longer combinations this year, higher weights are going to be the next step especially if our cargo rail stays stagnant. But you can't introduce it all at once without drawing criticism to it.

Find a nearby steel mill, join the Brotherhood.

I wish we had any sort of industrial area near El Paso. Closest thing to it is the oil operations in Odessa/Midland.

Would be great if Netherlands and Germany worked together on this. If so, Belgium will follow asap and france, with their new leader might as well.

You realize that greater weights and longer trucks are for the express purpose of putting drivers out of work don't you? Fucking Australian management shills.

I'm not a truckdriver but in the industry of design such trucks.
So, yes, i do realize that and think it is very profitable for the industry i work in and economically viable means it's good for the economy as a whole.

You mean buying a tow truck, or just a conventional tractor?

Seems effeminate and decadent. Just like all the other aspects of Europe.

Except that only the worst shitheads will be laid off and the rest will be paid better because of the greater skills required.

Tow truck, they're fairly inexpensive used so it's certainly an option for me.

I wouldn't call 25% more bhp and torque 'effeminate' but maybe you base your opinion purely on looks.
Also:
how's a more efficient truck 'decadent'. to me it would seem that a less powerful longnose that carries less but is aesthetically pleasing (to some) is more decadent that just a truck that get the job done as efficient as possible. but hey, that's me.

Why? I've got two loads on my truck in this picture and they haven't even broken 10,000lbs together.

>"Why?"
In the OP it says 44 tonnes like that is a high limit.
As with any child my fascination with trucking is directly proportional to the weight of said trucking.
And sure, i understand that trucking is not about always being at the absolute maximum, so in day to day life increasing that maximum wouldn't change a lot but it really fascinates me that it is possible.
also: when driving 1000+ km/miles it makes sense to do that fully loaded. (so collect to-, and distribute from- distribution centers and fully load the trucks driving between them) on shorter distances it is more economical to combine as much as possible but only use 1 truck. (thus saving the costs of dc's.)

>Got e'
Just fucking with you Eurobro.

Ganada is a little different for max weight than the US.

Lots of trucks for use in logging, oilfield, mining and construction are tri-axle truck and tri-axle trailer setups that can haul a max of 53,500 kgs (117,947 pds).

B-Trains can do 63,500 kgs (140,000 pds), and tandem tractor, tri-axle trailers (the most common setup I see) can do 46,500 kgs (102,514 pds).

44 tonnes is just a meme that gets thrown into the OP blurb out of tradition, or at least that's how it is for me when I bake the bread.

>wen u have a 1215 appt but lunch ends at 1220

>combine as much as possible
Not going to happen with 95% of spot market freight, sonce they write exclusive use of equipment clauses into the rate agreement. I've had to haul a single 400lb pallet from Illinois to Texas and couldn't put anything else on the trailer because it would be a breach of contract. The commodity you're ignoring is time, and that's part of what my customers are buying.

Because not every load is a bunch of flowers. People manage to stuff 70,000 lbs of liquids into 20 ft tank containers. The whole package then weighs 80,000 lbs. That's as much as your entire rig maxed out.

44 tonnes is the highest permissible weight across the entirety of the EU; the long combination countries Netherlands, Sweden and Finland notwithstanding. It specifically applies to containerized goods in combined transit (from and to rail transport or ship transport). For all other trucks the limit is 40 tonnes.

Smuggle truckloads of young Latina 3d waifus over the border.

Are there any tow truck drivers ITT that can red pill me on DOT or weigh station checks? My tow truck driver didn't want to let me drive my car up onto the bed (had to use the winch) and I didn't want him to do it because the car is so old and light the weight of it could fuck something up on the frame. He was saying some shit about not having the winch hooked up is illegal

Typically not having loads secured is a big no-no for obvious reasons.

>UnflatteringPhoto.jpg

I don't see why one couldn't just secure the frame properly without the winch and have it legally secured, but it makes a lot more sense to have it attached, especially while unloading the car, in case it starts to slide off the deck or something unexpected like that.

In what universe? The savings goes straight into management's pocket never to be seen again. Trickle down doesn't work.

He didn't trust the brakes on your turd. Get over it.

>Rest of the world, please step up your game.
>his country doesn't have a thirteen figure gdp
Lol

Ok. Better make USA trucks only have a gross of 20 tonned then. I mean I just made a shitload of jobs then.

got to drive my bosses Western Star today. 38 degrees and fucking pouring. loaded up a 16x12x2' water gate on a flatbed to go 60 miles north to get refurbished. finish loading, turn truck around, on the way out the crane operator waves me down to ask a question. I roll the window down and it does down about 2 inches and then just fucking collapses into the door. neato.

>trump sees this and makes a executive order

LOOK AT ALL DEM JEWBS I CREATED

Upset ya there did it management shill? Poor baby.

Besides they use Hours of Service for that. Why do you think they're pushing e-logs?

No. I'm o/o and when doing road train work I get paid twice as much. Meh.

eog_prod is that you? Ya paraniod muppet.

LMAO! Instead of moslems running them over. It is their own citizens.

Pick one

Was going to ask cause my gf was rly in the mood for a dp but bless tfag I didn't want to wake him

Good thing you didn't. You'd see him with curlers in his beard and a worn out pink terrycloth robe.

I haven't lurked /r/truckers in a while; is he still a fat-head blowhard?

What do you think about cng injection into diesel engines?

As long as you can slap a big ol' "POWERED BY CLEAN BURNING CNG!" sticker on the side of it...

But you could do that to any truck...

Nothing changes.

So I just got a job with a local alcohol distribution company and they have a guy that passes CDL trainees so as long as I study and get my permit and take some time outside of work to learn to drive the trucks, etc. I can be passed by him to take the test and they reimburse the cost of the exams, I already have my DOT physical from a shitty seasonal job with UPS. Also no sign-on and getting the CDL is optional but with a pay raise of a few dollars, otherwise I'm driving Penske's. Anyone have good resources on learning airbrakes and the test? I can't focus enough to retain reading the book

CNG is being used with frac spreads and drilling rigs to lessen diesel use and costs. With frac pumps, they can run up to 80% natural gas.

doc, i...

Non trucker here, what class would the truck be in the op?

today was entertaining

Its a bodyjob, or straight truck, so it would be a class B in America, and Class 3 in Canada.

Looks offroady. Where that?

the Denver area. it was a fucking mess today. 38 degrees and raining like crazy. this was also me

thanks. It looks like something that would fit in with Spintires.

No worries.

Its a 40 tonne picker truck that most likely has seen a bunch of oilfield work.

Its up for sale for the low, low price of $118,820 Canadian dollars.

Find practice tests online. Permit test is really easy and basically the same across all states. The actual license test is slightly more difficult so you want to make sure you understand the brake tests.

If you're anything like me, try and find a tractor-trailer to practice in because doing the tests in an actual truck for half an hour will probably help you learn more than reading the book for a month.

Company drivers are I think 45 or 46cpm and extra 5cpm if they opt for a lightweight. They also get fuel bonuses for good fuel mileage and shit.

Lease ops get 72% of the total load revenue and most average 1.30/mi some more, I'm about 1.45 if I stay in the NE long enough.

Company are 58 on the pedal, 62 on cruise, disciple-tier lease ops are 65 on pedal and cruise and both cut to 1500rpm although I can rev up to 1800 to jake down a hill in a pinch if I have to

No nanny cams, but you will have On Guard which is actually pretty cool for fog and to set your speed and shit and see how fast people are going, and they have Lane Assist too.

You can coast up to 77mph and you get 30 seconds of 78 or higher before safety calls.

Compared to a lot of the mega carriers they give you a lot more freedom. Hometime, easy if you're lease. Company drivers get a day for every week they drive.

I won't say to sign up for the lease program but if you do you had better know your shit and be prepared to go 60mph everywhere lol. Their lease program is not horrible but it ain't the best in the industry. We do make more than most people though you just have to have basic business knowledge of profit, loss, revenue, costs and shit like that.

Our company drivers get paid well too.

8/2 is designed for the days when you deliver one load and wait to pick up another load. Your 14 gets shot to hell waiting for the next load but you still have a bunch of time on your 11. When you go to SB or OD for 8hr you get back what was left of your 11 the day before and it can help you get a jump on the next run. I've used it to make appointments and beat rush-hour traffic.

Plus, you can use that two hours you have to sit for a shower and laundry or if you run hard like me, a well-deserved nap. It's a very useful tool in the box but like any tool it's useless if you don't know how to use it.

I'm not too sold on the home time, I'm trying to get into towing like I said or possibly a trade. I'll look into it though because your pay scale blows ours out of the fucking water. If DHT started at even .38cpm I'd be pretty well off.

>not even .38 cpm

flat deck construction material delivery. Hang out on construction sites, have people actually happy to see you, home every night, can still tell chicks you drive a truck

I did this for two weeks
>youll be driving a crane
>end up delivering shingles on conveyor
>up to 1000 bundles a day
>50-100 pounds each

I was making $20/hr but told them i can't go on without at the very least getting 25

Our pay scale blows most companies out of the water even for our company drivers. Come on over and make some money. We gets paper.

You gotta stay out though if you don't mind grinding. The longer you stay out the more you make. I have had weeks I grossed 5K and kept over 2K of that after fuel and expenses. You don't need to be lease to make bank here, hell most of our company drivers bring home 1K a week. You just have to stay out for a bit.

Different ops do things differently. I've driven cars onto the bed and I've wenched functional cars up. I can say I'd never let an owner drive onto the bed. Too much of a risk.
