Having trouble with EO4's dragons, but I don't want to go all (insert dragon element) charms + (insert element) Runes. Is there any feasible way to actually win outside of retarded elemental resistance?

Use the scrolls you got after the mazes or just retire your current team to get fresh level 30 characters.
There are no other shortcuts.

Turn 1 Burst skill that negates elemental attacks.
You should have at least 1 or two safe turns on which they won't use the breath again.
Head bind them before then and just blow them up while all they can do is scratch you.

Highlander was the player class for EOU - that is the only reason they are in EO2U.
But I don't think Imperial would be such a good fit for EO2U either. Between Fafnir and Gunner they would not really stand out.

I think Imperials would work well in EO3U. Since EO3 is missing a dedicated mixed elemental attacker (outside of shitty Chasers) they would be very valuable.

As stupid as that is they will probably do exactly that. But even then it's DLC and both Fafnir and Gunner could coexist. Adding Imperial would be overkill.
But now that Gunner is out Imperial can come in.

And since the main girl was a class from the next game in both Untolds I can see her being an Imperial in EO3U.

Ricky is pretty fucking strong. With Action Boost maxed she can pump out damage like it's nobody's business.
And she doesn't have to wait for four turns every time she wants to use her burst.

And it takes her quite some time to get there. Meanwhile highlander is the one doing the killing and the protecting.

On the other hand, imperials just need to get their drives to break everything on their knee, which is what their class is designed to do.

There's just no way around it. Gunner might have a technical way to outperform highlander but by default she's under the highlander's protection, both in gameplay and aesthetics (Frederica looks and acts comparatively frail to the highlander, and being a gunner she keeps distance to the enemy contrary to him). An imperial, on the other hand, is huge with their bulky armor and pulverizing enemies with oversized mechanical swords. There's no believable way to make an imperial look weaker than MC and necessarily be under his protection, not visually and (hopefully) neither gameplay-wise.

Fafnir and Imperial work pretty differently.
Their Drive skills are good but they have a cooldown (that doesn't have an entire skill tree, several skills of another class and a consumable build around negating it).
Ignition takes a while to get going and Overdrive is their only way to deal area damage whereas Fafnir can just throw out Waves to clean stuff.
Also no Accelerate.

I feel HP can be lower against a class that has good burst damage every few turns compared to constant murder mode.

Neither Ricky's cold start towards the group nor Arianna's airhead tendencies are safe bets when it comes to writing and for many people both of them are crossing the line into cringe territory every now and then.

And Darkness is always willing to get abused she just sometimes forgets about it.
No one in Konosuba is usually strong or stern. Sometimes they try to act like it but fail miserably.

So apparently this wiglaf bug is a positioning bug and probably is related to spawning her in a wrong place since fighting a dream eater doesn't break it but fighting an icy pincer (a mob spawning in the other area she may have an event) ends the event as expected. At least it seems to persist through saving since i just reloaded the save for reasons and she's still there

How should EO3U fix Buccaneers? Their main gimmick (which is chases) is hot garbage and all of their skills save for one are incredibly mediocre. I mean for the most part assuming you don't invest in their useless chases you're gonna have a relatively weak class that can only debuff with Eagle Eye, and has access to two very mediocre Rapier/Gun skills until you inevitably rest them so they can spend the rest of the game spamming Pincushion.

Since I would like Shogun to have a class skill that is more fitting than "How about... two swords!?" Buccaneer should get their dual wield.
Rapier and Pistol is how I imagine a pirate in the first place.
Since pirates were always fighting on ships (and because they were poor) they got rid of armor in favor for footing so instead of Chasers they can get skill that have them switch lines adn increase their evasion (without making them dodge tanks - just for their own good). This way they can make use of both the Rapier and the Gun in different ways.
Focus on multi-hit attacks and you have a speedy class that is about raw damage and evasion instead of ailments like Ninja/Nightseeker.

EO2U Survivalist got some heafty rework and picked up ailments and I feel Buccaneer can pick up new tricks and more damage skills in the same way.

Yeah me too, but wait how about the Buccaneer being able to switch his gun and rapier out in battle instead? Not only would it be a fun interesting playstyle but it would also have some really neat subclass options.

Defending doesn't have priority, but Vanguard does. The games don't give enemies access to priority often, thankfully.

It might make for interesting Gameplay but I can not see them doing it.
That would need completely new interface elements for one old class in a remake. Unless you don't mean they should add a fifth slot for their second weapon in which case it's mechanically not different from Bushi-style dual wielding.

They're able to switch with a weapon they can equip out of your weapon inventory. Make Rapiers and Guns play completely differently so they compliment each other's strengths and weaknesses.

There are few classes with defined niches in EO3, which imo is one the main reason that it is one of the worse balanced games in the franchise.
Bucc's niche should be consistant damage from front or back line. I have never felt that their chase skill fit with their pirate theme. But I do like their "fight in groups" flavor text.
While typing this, this user posted his idea, which I think would really work to fix these problems. Have their mastery skill be dual wielding, but only with a gun and rapier (ie, not 2 guns, not 2 rapiers), additional skill points raise damage dealt with each. Have rapier be more about debilitating, and the gun about finishing off; so they'd play like sword Dark hunters. Your turns would go something like:
(Start in front line) Blinding stab
(New skill that attacks, then changes line and changes primary weapon)
Blind shot (or similar)

This'd also add a class focused on ailments aside from Wilding, which is only a good thing.

Me too.
Wildling had access to a lot of ailments and all binds but their targeting was strange. Sometimes their beasts could target all, sometimes only a single enemy.
I would let them keep them at mostly being single targeted since they also get beasts (in the summoning line) while the new class has more linewide or piercing effects but a more limited selection of ailments.

I would also have them take advantage of binds but we had "deal more damage against enemy with bind/ailment" in Dark Hunter and Nightseeker so it may get a bit samey using it again.
Instead I'm thinking something like a skill that is really good at binding the enemy's legs and all their other infliction skills have a higher chance if the enemy is leg bound.
Add in a way to reset accumulated resistances early like Arcanist in EOIV could and you have a different kind of ailment/bind user.

Force Boost got invented for EO2U and for Fafnir.
EO2 has essentially only Force Breaks back then simply called Force.
A similar mechanic in EO3 would be Limits but I really hope we don't get Limit Boosts...
