Shirou canonically has more timelines in which he fails and die horribly than ones in which he survives so I'm not sure you can call him lucky.

No, it varies from group to group - but for a huge number of shows with official subs, one or more of the fansubs are in fact superior. This is especially true for Funimation and Crunchyroll.
