It's both good and bad. Unlike in DaS1, you can more readily restore spell uses, and unlike in DaS2 it isn't trivialized by farmable consumables that ensure that you don't even need to go back to a bonfire if you don't want to. It's more flexible in that you can cast however many you want as long as your FP holds out, instead of being restricted to a certain number of casts of CSS or CMW and then having to waste a consumable while having several casts of CHSM still ready.

The execution is not so good in that the game limits your total amount of Estus (so unless you're a healslut you're not getting as much healing), which kind of breaks invasions too.

Technically you can make your own Blessed Mail Breaker, it's shit for anything that isn't off-handing for regen though. You can also outright kill Sirris once she shows up in Firelink and get her set and talisman that way.

The major things that get locked out are Silvercat and DSA. Otherwise, Creighton's set and Hodrick's set are meh, and Sunset Shield isn't even that good anyways.

It just feels beyond optimistic at this point. The closest thing to a possibility I see now is it getting the same treatment as the plume and actually being patched in but thats not happening.
