Sweet, caught a new thread. Couple questions about SwAxe's Tempest Axe HA:

1) What are the changes between tiers?
2) Are motion values affected at all?
3) Is axe mode finally usable, or is it still best to just go Sword-Only Striker?
4) Is it best used in Brave Style, or does another style benefit more?

I haven't been using axe mode since Tri, and I want to be excited for it.

Unless you're fighting something stationary, you're gonna be getting more out of Axe mode even in Striker due to Energy Charge's nerf making Demon Sword harder to keep up reliably on faster monsters. Brave is useful but it can work in Striker too, you can do the extra finisher. The normal roundhouse would still be blocked, but you'd have something to go to after hack n slashing.

It doesn't attack at all and there's an AoE health drain surrounding it.

Gen was never easy, hunts just lasted shorter thanks to arts and max dps.

Went back to 4U after 200 hours of Gen and a G rank frenzied zinogre couldn't even touch me, just SWaxe evasion hopping through every attack.

These G5 and Super Deviants are just Heaven-or-Hell Dante Must Die levels of ass. They're like Apex 140's except stronger and you don't bounce as much, and you can't use traps, which means they practically beg to be Hame'd cause if you're not sleeping and paralyzing then one accident sets you up for cart city.

you still have userland access, which means you can use region free and save manager homebrew

i am not sure about the english patch. the supported patching methods are either ntr cfw or installing a patched .cia, both of which require arm9 access, which is out of reach for people on 11.3 who haven't already hacked their 3ds. HANS is an option for people who only have userland access but it is not supported by the translation team. patching games with HANS is a relatively messy process and i've never used it so i wouldn't know if it's possible for you to use it to patch mhxx

HANS will also break the first time the game is updated, which it probably will be like every other 3DS MH game, and prevent you from going online.

shot booster is not really a necessary skill, it's a convenience thing that can help you maintain damage in some situations

I would actually argue shot booster is better for online where the monster will be running away from you in some cases to fuck other people, whereas solo its coming for you 90% of the time

set 2 is more damage for sure

the usefulness of recoil down also depends on the bowgun and the shots you're using, so that may be an important factor

you wouldn't be having much of a problem if you just used your old save.

Well, I honestly don't care about the English patch too much. I've played every previous MH game except for X so I should be good for the most part. I might try to get things working but it seems like there's little to no information on how to do this from the newest firmware.
