That said, I think Automata is better in that regard. Stuff like 9S memories novel being a possible metaphor for seeing your life flash before your eyes, the reconciled deceased calling you to Heaven and you having the choice whether to follow them into the Light, the uncertainty of an afterlife (maybe the Ark will reach a new world, or maybe it never will), I thought that was pretty clever.

Am I just supposed to just comb every inch of the desert with the scanner open for that ancient relics side quest? Or are there hints as to where to look?

DoA5 has some good mods and a pretty big mod scene. Resident Evil 6 and Revelations had good models too from what I remember, but that was mostly from the chinese modders. Most games just get shitty texture mods because no one bothers to figure out the file formats or make tools for importing/exporting models. Also easier for shit artists to attempt making a texture than editing the model itself. I used to make shit edits too

Honestly I'd prefer DLCs with short side quests that unlock new weapons. I was just thinking that it would be neat if as a heavy type weapon we could use some kind of small version of the shore artillery gun. Surely if they can swing around big fuckoff swords we could also get big fuckoff guns.

dlc are just going to be a couple colosseum style bosses that you will be able to access at those doors with suicide robots, nothing extra story but maybe a couple archive files, the bosses will probably be done purely by platinum without nay input from taro

No idea, this has been bothering me forever.

We know that Devola, Popola, and other androids were made to observe project gestalt. How did we go from that to having shitloads of androids with their own lives, relationships, culture? We don't know how many there are but there are enough that keeping the machine war going to keep them happy is somehow worth it, so I imagine there must be a shitload of Androids on earth, and plenty of camps like the resistance camp the game centers around.

Where did they come? At what point in the nier timeline were they made and why? I have no idea.
