If you need pestiferous components you're going for crackling 3+venomblood, which means you're trying to make your araxxor kills very slightly smoother, which means you make enough gp/hour that leveling swords to disassemble is an utter waste of time compared to disassembling them at level 1.

What's the point of having different spells then?

In theory weakness, but this doesn't actually matter in practice since everything with a type-specific weakness is a very weak mob anyway. The effects of ancients are nice though.
