Do you prefer iron block or aluminum, and why?

Aluminum block with iron sleeves.

Monica

Aluminum because of how much lighter it is. Modern aluminum engines are pretty durable as well

depends on the application. In a truck I think i might want an iron block with iron heads and iron manifolds an iron thottle body with an iron butterfly vavle and iron fuel injectors and an iron waterpump and an iron radiator.

in a sports car i'd want it to be as light as possible, so aluminum.

Probably have to go with a V12 engine that is essentially what a pile of shit could repair and you might make some cash.

this

Iron because this nigga seized and there's no physical evidence.

Aluminum. For weight and performance.

What about for a 550hp Shelby GT500. 2010 model had iron block, 2011+ had aluminum.

Not sure how durable the aluminum is with that horsepower, but it shaved off 100lbs off the nose which is nice.

iron, because im a man

You can easily shave 300+ lbs off the nose by not carrying passengers and not being a fat fuck.

iron because the weight penalty is less than the difference between a full and an empty tank of gas

iron blocks are the shit

>performance
>wrooooooooong

>For weight and performance.

Still weighs more than a iron block LS.

Do you sit on the hood of the car when driving?

still faster than an iron block LS

100 pounds is 6 horsepower on a 3800 pound vehicle.

Not running high boost so I have no need for iron.
Though LS9's have me thinking you don't really need iron at all.

But we are strictly talking about blocks here

I couldn't sleep right with an aluminum block.

this

I'd rather be 100-ish lbs heavier than having to worry about the thing warping
