Because advances in technology and manufacturing permit it. Creases in panels used to be expensive until they found cheaper production methods for them. And lights used to be a bulb in a reflective bowl, but now they're all LED and lasers and shit and it opens up a completely new realm of design.

Late as fuck but everyone that has them say they are. I upgraded my headlight harness and put in clear lenses so my output is decent but I still think about picking them up occasionally. My biggest problem with LEDs is when they die you have to replace the whole assy rather than just a bulb, even though LED life is much longer than a typical halogen
