Im paper trading, can someone explain short selling to me a bit, im not talking about the basic concept but more about how brokers allow it.

Can you short on robinhood, are there specifics stocks that you can short. If there a stock that is going up can you short it with certain brokers or will they not allow it as im assuming that they need to have that stock in their ownership for you to borrow it and short to return later?

Using wall street survivor and I shorted 1500 shares of MYOS, sitting around $1600 profit if I sell, im guessing most wont allow me to do that with a lot of penny stocks right.

You cannot borrow stocks from Robinhood. They constantly fuck up simple buying and selling, of course they can't do anything more complex than that.
