It's set to high, I had this issue with Mistel and Fanar. Think it has something to do with the transparency of the hair mesh.

Make sure the hair in the follower head .nif has the same alpha flag and threshold values.

Also make sure her hairline files are properly assigned and packaged with the follower. Perhaps they're missing or something.
