Better than Imprezas.

Can be fragile.

do it nigr

MISSUFAIRINGU SHISTEMU

why are Evos so expensive compared to STis? EU here.

I think Evos have never been sold here while STis have. Any Evo is either an import or a replica.

Lost it hard.

I always wanted one but they're so expensive for the mileage on them

Couse evo's disapeared hence making them more rare, and so more expensive here in spain the gap is not that huge in price but it is on how many there are for every 5 sti there's an evo

>wrong

>redline
>not redpill
I like this actually

About 8000

can we make this a thing?

>correct

I'm on board, someone make a thread to petition the use of redline instead of redpill on Veeky Forums

I'll bump it

Just keep using it by yourself and it'll spread eventually

FWD econobox with a turbo and transfer case bolted on.

Same but likeSaid, it will happen naturally. If only Veeky Forums had board exclusive word filters

Can't force it senpai

It's a very good car, tuned for road usage and tracks. But it costs a lot.

This also makes a it a boring car for those who want to tune a car and get more out of it.

To counter this Mitsubishi released a bare bone model, called the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Rally Sport. But it was still expensive.

After a while they stopped making them, because the market demand for this car is pretty low.

You might now realize why Toyota and Subaru made the GT86/BRZ they way it is. They understand you have to give people that like this type of car a bit of wiggle room to let them try to hobby on it.

Doing this from now on

>Evo debuted in October of 1992, and was the new rally car used by the Manufacturer team
>Was built in a gentlemen's agreement with Subaru so they shared a horsepower cap
>2.0 l I4 turbo for rally homologation
>awd and gets better mid 2000's with torque vectoring AYC
>4 door sedan with big trunk so it's incredibly practical as a family car
>1-3 are on the same frame ("frame")
>4-6 are on the same frame
>7-9 are on the same frame
>10 is its own beast
>older mirages can be converted into evos 1-6, pic related lands you the only 2 door evo configuration
>funny enough the 2015 mirages can use evo 4-6 knuckles
>evo engines are also in 1g and 2g DSM eclipses and make tons of power

>redline
Kek, okay. You may pass.

Honestly I really like them. They can be kinda expensive, but still have a good performance/price ratio. I really only know much about the X. I think there were more transmission issues on earlier models (especially the six speed in the 9's?), so bear that in mind. Normies will think they ride a bit hard for daily use. In stock form they are sporty and quick... but most people upgrade them for even better handling and more power. A good choice if you want a track car you can drive around. I think they are better than Subarus, but those can be really nice too, especially ones from years ago.

Evo 8 is the best Evo

Evo 10 is a fat pig and never should have been released

it has desu

>Evo 6 is the best Evo

FTFY

I like 8's. Evo 10's might be fat but the active AWD and boost-happy engine do a great job to compensate for that.

Best Evo
>Pic related

why are 2-door wedges so fucking sexy

Don't be silly. I'm assuming the OP is looking for real advice.

A very different (closed or semi-closed deck) engine with a turbo, different transmission, completely different suspension setup, different wheels, different ECU and other electronics, better brakes (Brembo?), and a host of other differences compared to the FWD econobox it is based on.

FTFY

>The Impreza will never look this good, honest and up for the task ever again.

:^(

yeah

GC is GOAT

AYC pump will get fucked if you live in an area with salted roads.

That's not a wedge you goof.

Yes.

>kicking ass and taking names with a Group A car when everybody else was moving to bespoke as fuck WRC cars

sure it's a wedge, it just has a bump in the middle

>>evo engines are also in 1g and 2g DSM eclipses and make tons of power
Yeah... Not really. 150hp in n/a isn't really a ton of power, user.

Group A AWDs were the absolute best. Raw as fuck and looking amazing. And there was still homologation.
>celica st205
>TM evo
>impreza
>escort cosworth

Can't get any better than that.

Isn't AYC essentially a mitsubishi's version of Haldex?

>Fun
>Fast
>True AWD
>Cool sounding engine with great tuning potential
>Phenomenal Brembo brakes
>Surprisingly practical
>Large aftermarket
>Good resale potential

>Expensive
>Many have been poorly modified
>Bad gearboxes on some models
>Lots of turbo lag
>Temperamental engine (largely thanks to high stock boost)
>Eats through tires depending on how you drive
>Cheap interior

>Tfw I own an evo 8 with 56K

I love it, my wallet hates it and thus limits my use of the car as I am a college graduated neet so I drive my shit box but actually it's a clean truck

im looking to import a 5 rn, gud idea or avoid?

Might as well get a 6. I think 6 is the cut off from crankwalk that dsm get but you might want to check that

Wasn't crankwalk only really the 420a eclipse issue?

I want a 4wd car i can absolutely thrash with no chance of destroying drivetrain components. I'm talking 4wd skids and dropping the clutch from redline

What should i get?

A truck

>323GTX
>190E
>M3
>Delta
All based, every single one of them.

Celica or Caldina

Forgot to mention i'm in straya, murrican trucks aren't an option.

I've driven a gt4 my cousin used to own, it certainly didn't hold up to the level of thrashing i'm hoping for, i'll like into the caldina though but fuck those things are ugly. What are the drivetrain differences between the two?

4G63 can be a little fussy about head gaskets and likes head warping
at lest that's how it is in the Chariot
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_Chariot#First_generation_.281983.E2.80.931991.29

how is the evo for transfer cases ?
I Have been considering making an evo space wagon

...

It believe the caldina uses the same drivetrain as the celica, as well as the engine.

I dunno about mainland but I know Evo's were sold in the UK, hell the whole FQ line is UK exclusive.

Makes me mad as a burger fat.

Subaru Impreza FTW

youtube.com/watch?v=crKCJiOFF-k

>Lots of turbo lag
BUT THE MISHUFIRINGU SYSTEMU

No I believe it affected all 5 or 6 bolt heads. I am at work and can't be bothered to look it up.

Tfw there was a 323 gtx for sale near me 2 years ago. Didn't have the neet bucks to get it

Are old Evos rare? I fucking love 3s and 4s but fuck they are hard to find.

Yes. The 8/9s in good condition are rare so finding a good early evo is very rare. Also depends where you buy it. If gook land or Aussie land(what's the difference at this point) it's gonna be a lot easier. If U.S then you are fucked, if you find one, more than likely it's gonna be in average or below average condition and they will ask you 20k+ so fuck that. I only seen one and the guy was asking 22k for an evo 4 with like 90k miles that was imported.

the talon, eclipse, laser also came with the 4g63t with around 250hp stock. Your thinking of the n/a dohc2.0 simular to the dohc neon engine rated at 150hp that the base models came with

You are looking for the 420a engine

An Evo isn't n/a and neither are the dsms with the same engine

>why is the faster and rarer car more expensive?

Wrong

>not buying a DSM
