it's time to let go, user. friends change and those dudes don't seem like your friends. you're at a point where they owe you nothing and you owe them nothing, despite their apparent struggles to find substitutes. find your place elsewhere and start from there. your raid leader friend is all wrapped up in what you both created so he will probably stay there. if you still have hope, see if you can work out a deal with him, but for the most part you've been gone for too long and the new static are too blind to see past their own noses. find a raid training guild and learn with them, grow with them, and make a new team

You should join HOPE, there's always lots of empty raid spots there, 4-7 to be more precise

At this point I've been disinvited (with a random last minute call to sub in) for far longer than I was even away in the first place due to RL obligations. It's less that I feel hurt by this apparent betrayal, and more so just confused why you'd treat someone like this who's been through the thick and thin of things for four years, and was one of the instrumental reasons why the raid guild even came together in the first place (not even to mention the two separate guilds I had left before for this group (those two old guilds are long since dead, so it's not like I burned any bridges)).

I just don't get it.

Because as was in that green texting, this was how the guild operated with respect to people who had to leave for RL reasons before. I leave for a bit and suddenly betaness and passive aggressiveness seems to take over the guild.
