And of course, using the same technology or whatever they used to get eggman allowed him to travel back in time and mess up the timeline, leading to this current reality wherein Sanic & Co. are getting a beatdown.
You know, if they hadn't tried to explain the Eggman thing as Sonic's immature nickname for him, more people would've accepted it.
