And gods teleport out of the place when Sliske releases Strisath, who just starts shooting fireballs out of his mouth.

The elder artifact just siphoned V's power, they didn't need it to kill him.

In Hero's welcome you sneak in their base and steal one of their protective charms that's basically an antifire for their particular attacks. Trying to talk to a dragonkin guard, who's weakned after being beaten up by Tarshak, prior to getting the charm will make him attack you once and reduce your hp to 1, saying that he's too tired to kill you.

Later on you do manage to kill one that had mutated into an abomination because of V's power by completely submerging him in tons and tons of bane ore rocks, though apparently it's temporary since you can refight him but don't know if that's the canon or is just a gameplay thing.

Supposedly in the industry, the best strategy is to get a job like theirs for 2 years and then switch to another company to prove you can work in different situations and then hope to get a better salary based on that. But aside from being a stupid business policy this also has the downside of filling the staff with newfags who change the direction of quest series every few years.
