Objectively the best Izanami player here. (Build / Post revised from last time based on Shuriken tree nerfs)
Please understand even from Season 3, Izanami having crit and or life steal being bad is a meme. She always worked well with crit, and enjoys survivability but her 33% LS scaled autos failed to benefit from Devo's or Asi. Bloodforge is core on her now more than ever. With such a focus on farming and early aggression, which she wins easily, she should not have too much difficulty building into high cost items in duo assuming she farms alone. In mid, it may take a while but she also makes for an amazing middle laner as she can still provide "high area damage" and has an ult that hits as hard as a mage's.
Your go to build is:
Warrior Tabi, Ichival, Bloodforge, Titan's, Fatalis, Wind Demon, sell Ichival for Malice (you can pass Fatalis for Brawler's or Deathbringer)
DO NOT build Ninja Tabi on her. If you opt out Bloodforge for Fatalis, you will hit the attack speed cap when you activate Sickle Storm regardless if you have Wind Demon's passive proc'd or not. It is a waste of raw power, which Izanami LOVES, for no reason. (This part doesn't make sense because it was an older build but the point of getting Warrior still stands)
If you get Bloodforge, which I believe you should, you hit 2.22 AS alone with Sickle Storm up and 2.41 with Wind Demon. Getting Ninja Tabi to cover up that .10 missing attack speed is not worth the loss is in raw power for crits and from her ultimate she can deal. Ninja Tabi is a better choice for mostly every other hunter this meta, but Izanami should always stick with Warrior Tabi and not sell it for Ninja late game.

Bloodforge, as I have said before, allows Izanami to make use of her passive when at 50% and lower health while still being safe thanks to her shield. She gains an immensely high amount of raw power, and just a default amount of life steal, being all she needs. She doesn't need augmented LS with Devo's, but just a set amount and Asi does absolutely nothing for her. Bloodforge is simply a slightly more expensive Trans with lifesteal that is really a core item for her.
So long as you have 10% of the 20% of the penetration gained from her passive, you can outbox almost any and everyone one on one, whether your Sickle Storm is activated or not. She CAN box without her one just fine, just fight at max distance and understand you incur a basic attack movement penalty slow for the forward and backward swing.
Malice over DeathBringer. Doing the math, Malice gives you overall more damage, (One swing can crit and the return can not crit) and you can spread the effect of Malice across multiple people at once.
Remember that if you activate Sickle Storm and do not end up needing the full duration, cancel it early so it goes on cool down.
If you get a kill early or force a back, its very easy to get a tower as quickly as 5-7 minutes in thanks to Sickle Storm. Even with this crit build, you can hit structures for 120+ per auto plus bonus damage with Sickle Storm once you get Titan's / Bloodforge.
When auto attack canceling, be careful. If you use a normal auto, then immediately activate Sickle Storm, the sickle that was traveling forward will disappear. If you do not do it instantly and wait a second, you can fire a sickle, activate Sickle Storm, and fire boosted autos while your Kama sickle still travel forward and backwards, meaning you can execute a boosted auto and a regular auto at the same time. Auto attack canceling with Spectral Projection and Dark Portal can be done instantly. Its only with Sickle Storm that you must delay activating it.

While Crit builds are showing success, Izanami can still go a full power and penetration build. Her ability to 1v2-3 people decreases however as her burst becomes lower, however, should you choose to go this route, towers nor phoenixes practically do not exist anymore and you can absolutely shred any tank thanks to extremely fast Qin's procs. Your build is:
Warrior Tabi, Crusher / Silverbranch (if against a magical ADC or you're doing Izanamid) / Ichival, (I personally am very much liking Crusher but Ich still serves as a great cheap early item), Bloodforge, Qin's, Titan's, and Frostbound or Brawler's for Anti-Heal. Your ability to guarantee slow multiple people at once is very strong, as it not only wins team fights but keeps people away from you. (Remember, double procs of it) Because Izanami doesn't need more than 1.5 attack speed without her one, its viable on her, and I like it more than I like getting O-bow, but O-bow will always result in a DPS spike that affects the entire team and makes them take great damage thanks to you going full power and pen.

Poseidon is an all in mage, he has no escape besides going fast so if you gank him and aegis his ult hes a free kill.
If you are now thinking "well his ult is up more than aegis is" then get better positioning stop getting caught by him every single time his ult is off CD

I agree completely with this statement. Poseidon is not op in any way. Sure he can be a bit silly with hastened but that's about it. A good aegis/bulwark can usually shut him down depending on who you are. People are just salty because he is being played a lot due to the remodel.

I think thats def the issue, people are just not use to playing against him and seem to forget that yeah his whirlpool/kraken combo hits like a fucking truck if left completely unmitigated but theres tons of ways to avoid it/lessen its damage.
And ofc the classic way of just killing him because poseidon has no escape.
