Ford Crown Victoria

Hey Veeky Forums. I plan on purchasing a used police crown victoria at an upcoming auction and would like some advice from you car enthusiasts. The car apparently has bulletproof seats and doors and other changes to reinforce it.

The seats are awesome heavy duty cloth but it may already be worn out. They have a plastic backer in the backs so you don't get shanked. Largely they are base cars. With a higher output engine, 3.27 gears standard, oil and transmission coolers. Heavy duty brakes and suspension. That's it. Everything else is an option. The bullet proof doors, lsd differential, 3.55 rear. They are options not standard.

Just get a civilian model. Cop cars are terrible if you aren't prepared to replace the transmission immediately.

Other than possibly being required to replace the transmission, I wanted a P71 because it was built as a cop car. I plan on obtaining a laptop mount to have one next to me when I drive, and it already has a protective grill in front of the radiator. Just paint it black and tint the windows nicely and you have yourself an intimidating yet reliable car.

I don't post on Veeky Forums often, so I might sound like a complete faggot.

Just admit your autistic fantasy of being a wannabe cop

Lots on here shit on them. I had one, it was great and fun, didn't have a single issue for 2.5 years. Make sure to get it really cheap and keep in mind what you put into it, because they have bad resale value.

If I wanted to become a cop, I would have done it already. I just want a car so I can modify it to be more than just a car and make it cool as fuck. Anyone with a hint of intelligence knows how to tell if a car is an undercover cop car, the red, white, and blue lights, the extremely good condition of the exterior, etc.

go for a state agency, where they have more funds for upkeep, and where they have less idle time and more time actually driving. don't go for a local agency.

>Anyone with a hint of intelligence
That's a little short on Veeky Forums

>anyone with a hint of intelligence knows how to tell if a car is an undercover cop car
Yes, there are nuances in the design that make them stick out, however
>the red white and blue lights
Are not mounted externally and are often mounted on the back window shelf or from the ceiling, not visible when the back window is tinted
>extremely good condition of the exterior
Are you implying citizens don't take care of their model CV? You're fucking autistic and retarded

Glad to see someone else who gets it, OP. There is a section of people who browse this board who intentionally speed and break the law and get frustrated every single time they're nearly caught - like running up on a parked highway patrol car doing 20 over. If anyone contributes to this in any way, they lash out at them emotionally over the internet especially on this board.

They respond by either mocking the user in an attempt to shame them out of a good purchase or actively demonizing them and calling them wannabe cops. If you think this, you should fuck off you low conscientousness faggot. Follow the rules.
This

FHP here in Florida is a great deal - all their cars receive great maintenance and secondhand they're plentiful.

To add to my first comment, there are lots of youtube videos on what to look out for. I still have the idea in the back of my head about buying one from Stroopers so I've done some research.

We should just have a crown Vic general at this point

>and here we see another butthurt autist getting his Jimmie's rustled for being called out as a larping faggot

You don't know what larping is.

FHP Vics typically have the light sand colored interior
You're the one who has the problem. Sort yourself out you hyperemotional sperg

Any car that can be bought running for under $1,000 and the interior restored for less than $50 from the local JY is a win in my book.

Here is an example of an FHP Crown Vic - things to look for for highway patrol cars is usually carpet, upgraded radio, small push bar or wire pushbar (I think it's a PB200 on this one, PB100 for wire one? Not sure).

lel all you CVPI faggots are missing is a badge to complete your fantasy
>you're the one with the problem
>literally no u: the post
Coming from some fag that gets his jollies from fooling the driving public, that's rich

Not the user you responded to, but this is the logic you are using:
>User is buying a car
>Said car is typically used by cops
>Therefore, user is a wannabe cop
I prefer to pay attention to the technical aspects of a car instead of the reputation it has among autistic Honda drivers on a Mongolian lobster fishing imageboard.

18+ to posts
I still haven't looked into it in person, only online so I can't comment in interiors.
I'd look into auctions instead of craigslist if you can

>Ad-hom about Honda drivers
>dont even drive one

The reason is because he wants the laptop mount, next he's going to want the bull bar and the shottie holder, then probably the fucking cage so he can do his own rendition of stuntman mike

>trying to live out a fantasy
>calls others underage

Oh the ironing

>Coming from some fag that gets his jollies from fooling the driving public, that's rich

Only one person has come into this thread with persecutory delusions about autists larping as police and it's you. You're not thinking at all. Read the posts you fucking retard. We're discussing the cars because we like them. Most of the people here are conscientious (orderly) so we're comfortable with following rules. You seem to have an issue with anyone who looks like they could punish you for breaking them. Not sure why you'd even draw the conclusion between those two but it's not my job to deconstruct your probably abusive childhood, now stop posting please

The car in particular I am looking at already has a bull bar and a hole for a spotlight which I am going to utilize, though I would admit it would be quite humorous to have the cage and bars, I might even consider putting some simple sirens on it.

>trying to live out a fantasy

Oh so what are you, an underage nihilist or someone who's so narcissistic they "are" the fantasy? People like you should be banned

proverbs 26:4
Don't do sirens that's a good way to get into trouble
I love those big round Tahoes. Don't know if I could afford the mpg though

Me too. Beat ones are down to around $7500 where I live. I DD a Suburban so it's not like it's much of a concern anyways. $70 a fillup, 31 gallon tank and rubber floors.

>projection: the post
Only losers who want a power trip, like yourself, like ex-cop cars
They're pig fat, slow, inefficient pieces of shit
Thanks for proving my point you fucking austist lmao
>all these Reddit tears
You need to go back
>implying I'm the fool
How many people did you pull over using your super citizen power?

>Only losers who want a power trip, like yourself, like ex-cop cars
>They're pig fat, slow, inefficient pieces of shit

You're literally delusional. Who even thinks this? Are you the same kind of person who thinks that lifted trucks are for guys with small dicks?

I thought my fathers Tundra was expensive to fill up.....
proverbs 26:7

Post your MBTI retard

>keeps projecting his stupid position via Bible verses
You're pathetic, literally pathetic
>who even thinks that
Those behind the wheel of their Police Interceptor

No you mental midget I was talking to you. Who do you think you are?

Your assuming that I want an old car because I want to pretend to be a cop, when in reality I simply desire a well built car for a cheap price that was rated five stars in a head on collision test and four stars on a side collision test. They are built to last a long time, hence why they were used by police officers before they were auctioned.

You can always hit that arrow to go back to the last page or close the tab if you don't want to contribute to the discussion in an intelligent and creative way.

>They're pig fat, slow, inefficient pieces of shit

Do you think this is supposed to be persuasive? Who cares? I drive a fucking Suburban, can you not afford gas? Are finances a limiting factor for you?

Why are you lying? You already said you wanted the laptop mount, and the searchlight, and you already have the bull bat, stop lying you look pathetic
Not a larping autist

Nope, just pointing out the truth that these delusional faggots keep avoiding

You're drawing these conclusions unreasonably and following the exact same pathological frame of mind that I laid out in my very first post up here Maybe stop breaking the law, get a better job, earn more money, and stop being so angry at people who remind you of your father

I said it would be funny if I decided to put in the cage, which I am not because it serves no purpose to me. I work on laptops and would love to have an old thinkpad/toughbook next to me while driving with satellite internet. The bull bat was left on the car as the police department took it off, and a searchlight can prove to be extremely useful as it can be moved in any direction.

>this armchair psychiatrist thinks he can draw an add-on conclusion from a couple posts
So is this your side job? Latping as a shrink when your not in your 'tism mobile?

Tell me, what would I gain from people believing that I am an undercover officer? Are they going to give me money or kiss my hand?

As I said before, you can close the tab or go back to the last page at any time if you don't like this thread or our decisions.

>I said it would be funny if I decided to put in the cage
Which means you've been contemplating it
>I work on laptops, therefore I need the police mount
No, it's something you want and don't need to repair laptops
>Satellite internet
That's fucking retarded as well, get a USB modem and stop contriving excuses for why you need police equient to be a computer repair man

As stated earlier it's a powertrip, you know what reaction you get when driving around on public roads in a police interceptor, you want that power because you've never had any in your life and you've gotten to the age now where you'll go out and think it's a good idea to buy a retired unit and outfit it like it was active, you are literally garbage

proverbs 26:12

I never said I was going to be a computer repair man or repair computers inside of the car, a computer within the car has many benefits, and I would rather use that than what the majority of other drivers use, a smart phone. I could hook up the laptop to the cars electronics and control each little mechanism or values within the engine, I could have a GPS on it, I could host a small radio station on the move with some antennas mounted on the car, etc.

It is either going to be the laptop or a phone.

> (You)
>I never said I was going to be a computer repair man or repair computers inside of the car, a computer within the car has many benefits, and I would rather use that than what the majority of other drivers use, a smart phone. I could hook up the laptop to the cars electronics and control each little mechanism or values within the engine, I could have a GPS on it, I could host a small radio station on the move with some antennas mounted on the car, etc.
>It is either going to be the laptop or a phone.

Are you implying a laptop wouldn't be an even bigger distraction than a phone? Fuck off you know anyone looking in the vehicle and seeing a clearly visible laptop will cause most people to draw the conclusion that you're a cop

you are being baited so fucking hard by a shitposter

I know he is shitposting, and I am responding in a good manner to strengthen my skills at countering them.

>Are you implying a laptop wouldn't be an even bigger distraction than a phone?
Absolutely.
>Fuck off you know anyone looking in the vehicle and seeing a clearly visible laptop will cause most people to draw the conclusion that you're a cop
They drew that conclusion, but any retired cop will quickly know I am not a cop. Besides, people rarely know what cars are undercover and which ones aren't. Being good Americans and driving the proper speed limit not only can save your life, but will save the lives of others and should require a cop to keep you straight.

*Shouldn't

>Absolutely
You're retarded, a device which usually requires at least two hands to operate efficiently vs a device that can be operated efficiently by one, not saying either is ok for use while driving, but your logic is horrendously shit
>but any retired cop will quickly know I'm not a cop
That's not even the discussion, you're trying to fool every citizen on the road into thinking your a fucking cop, get your reading comprehension up to speed before going full autist with a laptop mount in a CVPI you stupid shit

Let me get this straight, we're the autists for owning a particular car that you don't like the implications of owning but you're the one that has full license to go into a thread populated by people you despise, call them names and try to persuade them out of purchasing a car and insulting them? Fuck off buddy. None of your opinions have any merit

>need
Nobody 'needs' anything. If you want something, buy it.

Yep, you sure are
You're the faggots that think owning a CVPI will make all the other people around you slow down and adhere strictly to the rules of the road and you do it for the lulz, your an IRL autistic faggot and so is every other larping faggot ITT
>Fuck off buddy
You're not my buddy, pal

you're all autists.

t. Grand Marquis master race

My nigga
Non Autistic Panther General when?

NOW

Im pretty glad these posts come up everyday now. I like coming in and seeing the autists cry about cop cars.

Surprisingly Ford's AODE and 4r70e transmission aren't bad at all. PD's will have changed the trans fluid frequently along with all P71's being equipped with trans and oil coolers.

I'd honestly like that desu.
I want to own a panther body, I might get a town car but I don't know for the next few months

>I wanted a P71 because it was built as a cop car.
It's built just like a normal Crown Victoria with some extra stuff (External fluid coolers) to handle sitting at idle all day and then redlining for 10 minutes. All that shit about IT'S GOT THE COP CHIP, BRO, IT COULD OUTRUN A FERRARI? It's horseshit, the only things making a P71 faster than a normal Crown Vic is shorter rear end gears and dual exhaust which were both available as an option on the normal cars anyway.

> I plan on obtaining a laptop mount to have one next to me when I drive
Is that so you can keep up with your gay porn subscriptions while driving, or is it so your boyfriend can record you jerking off with one hand to your imaginary sense of authority as you caress the column shift with the other?

>If I wanted to become a cop, I would have done it already.
But you realized you might actually have to do things and instead you want people to just drive 10mph under the limit when you're around.

>I just want a car so I can modify it to be more than just a car and make it cool as fuck.
It will never be more than just a car. That is literally the one thing the Panther platform was designed to be- a car. It's a big box that carries you from A to B. If you tell a three year old to draw a car, this is what they'll draw. The only people who think P71s are cool as fuck are dindus and degenerates, and I say that as someone who has a massive boner for land-barges otherwise.

> the red, white, and blue lights,
The color of which are completely dependent on local jurisdiction equipment and which are often mounted internally, not to mention how many areas don't even use Crown Vics anymore.

>shame them out of a good purchase or actively demonizing them and calling them wannabe cops.
You can make a good purchase without trying to be a wannabe cop, but most people specifically looking for Interceptors are doing so because I WANNA LOOK LIKE A PUH-LEASE MAN.

From the thumbnail I was sure this was gonna be CVPIAutist's car with the stripes and the vape-stick.

>They are built to last a long time, hence why they were used by police officers before they were auctioned.
They were used by police officers for a long time because since the discontinuation of GM's 9C1 Caprice, they were the only full size, body on frame car with a manufacturer police package still in production.
