Also Japan took cues from the US in the 70s as well, look at the first Gen Celica, especially the fastback. It's a stellar design that blends cues from both.

I think the appeal of American classics is that they look like real life HotwheeIs. European car design came to be from a completely different understanding of beauty and purpose.

Not OP, but the Torino personally, I can see why one wouldn't. A Type N/W is one of my pipe dream cars, special version sold only in the Northwest, with a 429 Cobra Jet.

The majority of crestored cars on my country are Australian and American imports.

On the Corvair, it looks like a cheap copy of Euro stuff because well, it kind of was, they were trying the Euro thing and it didn't work that well.

Not that user, but I love Corvair's as well (mostly because GM will never try something like it again), they definitely aren't the best though.

That's because Nader didn't even harp on it spinning from what I remember, it was how it held up in a crash. The Rear engine and older suspention (not that it was worse than any other american car at the time) with the potential to spin out is what made it such a good scape goat to point out flaws in the industry.

It's not that the roof is tall, it's that the car is small. Smaller than a modern Fiat 500 in fact, and only slightly bigger than a Riley Elf (an Austin Mini with a trunk).

I prefer the tub era 2bh. Especially the Deville has jumped the sharkfin by 1958.
