What is the best convertible?

Only rules are, RWD or rear/50-50 based AWD, comes in manual, and can be had for less then $5000 US, second hand.

>second hand.
I think your 5k budget kinda made that statement unnecessary. z3 with an I6 if you can or a Miata.

miata or MR-S depending if you want engine in front or middle.

I don't fit in a miata, Im tall.
And I can't get one for under 5 grand with a 1.8 and power windows.

So...Z3 is your only choice then.

Miata/MX-5, or a 6cyl E36 or E46 convertible. Maybe an E93 if you get lucky.

I only found 1 locally that fits the bill.
There is nothing else?

Nope, not unless you want to go convertible vs roadster, then you have BMW 3 series.

Also travel to buy a car. Every car I've bought has been a 3hr one way drive.

Roadster is fine, anything with an open top counts.
Not a t-top or stuff though.

Z3 or 3 series, get a I6 model, you'll appreciate smoking miatas

986 Boxster Spyder is the best convertible. Also acceptable are 981 Boxster GTS, 981 Boxster Spyder.

They both meet the manual/rwd requirements, but in what world are you going to get the "best" convertible for < 5k?

What about a Porsche coxster?
Or is 5 grand too cheap?

...

>986 Boxster Spyder
god I want one, and its a roadster not a convertible you pleb.
Forgot about 1st gen boxsters, add that to the list of...four cars

S2000?
Under 5k would be stretching it but it would be possible

About 7 grand for a decent non-S one. A bit more now, because it's summer and demand has gone up a fair bit.

lol for $5K you can basically afford a convertible Sunfire or PT Cruiser or a beat to shit Miata with very high mileage. You're too poor to afford maintenance on a used BMW or Porsche dumbfuck. But seriously, a New Edge Mustang or 4th gen F-body is probably as good as it gets for $5K. Keep saving up

A jeep you cu ck

I'd rather kill myself.

I can afford a bmw just fine. I'm just saying 5000 because I can get about that much in a month.
I will be looking to buy before the end of summer

The one I pictured is $3500, but it's 140k miles and has that dent in the rear

Damaged rear quarter panels are a real pain in the dick, 140k miles is no problem for a Boxster as long as the previous owners kept up on maintenance though.

where tf do you live
s2ks are around 20k here

Why even bother asking?

OP obviously knows jack shit about cars.

Buy a Del Sol and don't look back.

No.
