what's not so shit ("""good""") so far in SHiT 4:
>cars have some gravity and drag applied to them - they tumble and bounc significantly less than in SHiT Rally
>suspension does not seem to vault over edges or launch cars into space on sudden compression anymore, unlike in SHiT Rally (e.g. when hitting a mound of dirt on the side of the road with a rear wheel)
>water splashes slow the car down noticeably
>mixed class events with separate class/overall scoreboards
>inspections before/while repairing the car
>repair sliders are not fully fluid like in SHiT Rally, instead there are 'quick' and 'standard' fix options to choose from
>can buy used cars with varied prices depending on car history and parts, which can be of higher grade than otherwise available
>FFB does not stick when you Alt+F4 out of the game, unlike in SHiT Rally
>replay mode has better cameras
>car sounds change when you lose body panels

what's bad or missing:
>obvious repetitive stage chunks (can see same chunks 2-3 times in a single 15km stage)
>vague steering, weakish FFB
>no FFB effects from collisions and impacts to wheels
>no mixed surfaces
>no tire setup/wear/strategy apart from packing spare wheels
>car resets still instant
>replay mode still a very basic viewer, not an editor
>could use some co-driver interaction, like a button to ask how many miles/kilometers are remaining
>graphics are worse and yet it runs worse than SHiT Rally (then again, >HD6850)

Server is up for BMW M235i series. Schedule is complete but we'll be using a stock track for the first race because the server is going up late. The first track is Silverstone National, which uses the start/finish of the old circuit.

Yes, cars (like rwd e30) have instant understeer that somehow heals itself mid-corner like in track racecars with loads of aero, and everything feels ridiculously grippy. I've set my wheel on 900 instead of 540 because i was annoyed with massive weight transfers every time i move a wheel by milimeter.

"simulation mode" difficulty is all about doing 360s every time you try to trail brake because there is so much grip up front

it seems as if it's based on just pure course length rather than how much your suspension has to work, as doing 20 miles on wales and 20 miles on spain ends up with equally wrecked suspension which does not seem quite right

Whoever's driving is obviously driving with all assists turned on, but seeing this is literally (literally) our first look at the game, that's to be expected. Can't complain about graphics, because they honestly do look amazing, sound is definitely and upgrade for Forza, but it's still shit, I welcome the dynamic weather even though people are going to praise it like no game has ever done it before, 700 cars is GT tier, with over 200 layouts, I'm expecting to see the Japanese tracks return so any SGT cars will feel at home. I also like the HuD, it just has a nice A E T H S T E T I C to me.

If I had to make a snap judgement, it more than likely end up like every other Forza game, good, well made, but short lived, but you never know.

only 30 tracks (pcars 2 has 45+ no counting all these rallycross and kart tracks), puddles gets bigger with more rain but they would still stay in place (in pcars2 cars driving over puddles can relocate them), no sign of online driver rating, physic would be still simcade
No reason to buy it if one has FM6 already.

pcars and all of the nfs shift games were pretty shitty, i don't see how Slightly Shit Studios can manage to make pcars2 any good. GTR2 was their only good game.

they've tainted a rally game with rallycross, so at least car-car collision physics should be done at a basic level already.

they've done this with previous dirt games already, this was removed in dirt rally.

i had that happen at the second to last stage of my 50 mile spain rally, the guy in front's brakes apparently failed and while i'm sure it was purely rng there was something satisfying about it since i'd spent the past half an hour driving a car whose suspension was basically gone and i could believe that the AI left their brakes untouched and had them fail since mine were starting to fail too

that guy has a toaster. the game looks pretty decent at max settings
