>Now what? Do the Tutorial then the Career Agent missions; they give you ISK, ships, skillbooks and teach you basics. Talk to players and try to find a corp. The game is only as boring as you are. No, really. Find a corp. You don't want to be that guy.

I was thinking about playing. is it something you can play passively on the side while doing something else most of the time? Also is the game in a state of decline?
Nathaniel Sullivan
Fucking hell Kevin
Julian Johnson
what?
Ayden Campbell
Took ya time mate
Colton Bennett
Both of these questions are complicated to answer as it depends what you want to do in the game. I will say as a whole design wise, I don't think the game is on a decline. The game has been shittier in the past certainly.
>Is it something you can play passively on the side while doing something else most of the time?
You get out of EVE what you put into EVE. You can just log in every now and then and go on fleets, you can log in every now and then and do missions, or log in every now and then and explore. However "playing" EVE is kind of a misconception. In WoW or some other MMO once you clear the expansions content you've "played" the expansion. You do dailies and grind gear in order to make your character more powerful etc. In EVE you are either logged in doing stuff or you aren't and that's really up to you. Can you have fun in EVE without making a lot of commitments? Certainly! Can you compete in EVE without making a lot of commitments? No.
You can't compete in mining. You can't compete in the market. You certainly can't compete in claiming territory. You probably can't hold a wormhole. You can't accomplish things in EVE unless you're outpacing or outsmarting other players. (except missions, they basically have zero community interaction and are broken content)
>Also is the game in a state of decline?
The game goes through high points and low points. Its like the real world, stuff can escalate very quickly, or it can lull in a state of relative piece for long timelengths. On an individual content scale, there is always content if you go out and start shit.

So The Marmite Collective declared war on my high sec industrial corp. Think there's a chance they'll try to kill our pos?
Andrew Brown
Nah, they normally only shoot stuff taking gates.
Nolan Walker
Marmite only shoot things that don't shoot back.
Cooper Anderson
What is considered committed? Like do I need to put in 12 hours a day to be semi-competitive? or is it something you can give an initial burst at and play a few hours a day and be competitive?
For real though, I can't remember if they had a pub for recruiting or not.
Wyatt Harris
Is joining Brave Collective a good idea?
Christian Peterson
You set defense timers on systems and citadels on when they will be vulnerable. They need to be vulnerable for a certain amount of time depending on the size of the structure, I'm not sure if systems have different defense timers. Theres a weekly amount of time, I think you can have all your time in one day, or you can spread it out around your schedule.
Essentially the timers dictate timeslots when people log in to fuck with your shit so they know when they need to be ready to assemble their fleets and when you need to assemble your fleets. Typically the primary "commitment in EVE is a mental/social commitment. In order to compete in EVE you need to play with other people.
You can play EVE with it being a normal life priority that you would expect out of a hobby. HOWEVER, EVE can be unfun at times, its work sometimes, you'll deal with shit you don't want to deal with and in order to compete you need to still be able to log in and do shit when you don't want to.
If you're flaky you might as well just fuck off.
Jack Brown
your group having a structure timer doesn't mean everyone has to log in
Noah Hill
They get farmed 24/7 and recently got their asses handed by PL.
Now they hold shitty space that TEST didn't want.
Luke Green
Is there any point in switching to a frigate/destroyer when doing my level I epic arcs, or should I just stick with a Battleship for all level 1-4 missions?
Jordan Lewis
you should be using a machariel with hyperspatial rigs and accelerators
Leo Ross
it's probably faster in a destroyer
Julian Thompson
Is this game ded?
Luke Phillips
eh not really, it's doing alright could definitely be better though
Thomas Price
Is it worth getting into at this time?
Jayden Morgan
Not him, but I just started playing a week ago and I'm having fun
Angel Butler
yeah, it's always worth EVE is one of those games where things take time, a lot of newbros look at someone with a carrier, billions of isk, and tons of fancy mods and then get's all discouraged
but he doesn't see the years of SP training, ratting, grinding, mistakes, and learning that the veteran player has gone through
go get a referral from someone (either here or leddit) and you'll get 250,000 SP to help start your journey (it's actually a fairly big chunk) and go through the tutorial
Gabriel Ross
Summer update when?

summer?

How do I get PvP in null?
I'm interested in small gang shit, but the only things happening near my corp seem to be massive fleets, which are mind-numbingly boring. I just want to roam with a small gang and blap shit but no one seems interested.
Depends on your alliance, probably. Some have specific ingame channels for that, others have sigs and private chat rooms and others just have corps dedicated to that within the alliance.

you have terrible agility and can't turn fast enough with your prop mod on
Oliver Butler
>Some have specific ingame channels for that, others have sigs and private chat rooms and others just have corps dedicated to that within the alliance.
This is the only way I've found of getting any kind of small gang pvp in nullsec. Don't wait for publicly announced fleets, that's just the necessary bullshit to keep your shit safe. It's hilarious if you can get into a group that actually lives in hostile areas, just to fuck around with the locals.
Adrian Walker

max out any race's cruise, except caldari
Gallente >Vexor >Vexor Navy Issue >Thorax >Exeq Navy Issue all fun as fuck to fly
Amarr >Omen >Omen Navy Issue (kitey dps platform) >Maller (stupid tanky, semi brawler thing) >Arbitrator (weapon disruption is stupidly underestimated in small gangs) >Augoror Navy Issue (for meme tank)
Minmatar >Scythe Fleet Issue (channel zarvox!) >Rupture can be okay >Stabber is best frigate in the game >with Heavy Assault Cruisers lets you fly Vagabond which is actually the most fun ship to fly in the game
don't train caldari because all you have are pretty much >rlml caracal (boring as fuck) >blaster moa (the shield brawling meme ship)

Lucas Martin
>neet for 4 months >burning through my savings >can't afford to buy plex on a whim This is awful
Elijah Wilson
Competitively changes over night. You need to be able to produce quickly to make the most of market gaps, otherwise you get to the party too late to make any isk.
Also, you had better have some 10/10 BPOs
Zachary Powell
>tfw fell for ratting rattle meme (drone horde) >or maybe im retarded(i mean i am, but maybe i even more retarded than i though) >Got myself a RHML rattle, 1200 dps (1000 with reload) with target painter >only good damage againts cruisers >takes 20-24 heavy missiles to kill a BS >gecko does all the damage >basically VNI that doesn't require focusing rats, but also shit. >Basically a dominix, but also expensive >took 3k missiles with me, lasted 1.5 sites Did i retarded? Should i try using cruises or maybe torpedoes with 2-3 painters and omnilink for gecko to kill frigs? Then i will have no tank...hmm.. what do? Or do rats have that high thermal resist, i used inferno because i "calculated" that they will deal more damage even if diffirence of em\therm resist is 20%

how am I supposed to make money running missions and exploration is boring as hell and I am too retarded to play the market

There's no "winning" in this game, so no.

noob here the destroyer (algos) is extremely good vs frigates so I guess that I don't remember what kind of enemies there are in level 2 missions but you should do fine

Sortof. Experience and knowledge are more important than mechanical skill because most fights are decided before the engagement.
There are some skill intensive ships, but RLML also exist and they are a hard counter to them.
Jason Howard
>afk rat >in a snake >get 20m ticks and salvage on the spot Why didn't i do this sooner

Because you will eventually go afk in a rattle and come back to a pod in a station.
Tyler Jones
Nah, I look at Intel every so often
Jaxon Hughes
>afk snake >salvage on spot How? FoF cruises? My MTU can't even collect all wrecks in 30 minutes
Grayson Bailey
From what I vaguely remember, you can make a bot that reads input and gives you a sound warning if an intel channel reports anything within your surrounding few systems.
You should probably go get that.
Ryan Perez
>salvage on the spot
what? how?
Nathaniel Morris
>intel chat doesn't say anything >intel chat says something too late >you tab into game to see your rattle webbed and scrobbled by 4 rats >ganker's face when
Henry Parker
I'm going to take a guess and say he uses heavy drones to kill rats and has salvagers in the highs.
Tabs out to his favourite gay porn website so the drones can do work on their own and just salvages wrecks every few minutes when he tabs back in.
Jose Gutierrez
Intel bots are pretty punctual, user. Comes with being an automated text processing machine.
Mason Torres
>salvagers in high This makes more sense than using salvage drones...still though, why not use a dominix then? Bots are punctual, people who report in intel are not. Or we have bots that auto report neuts now?
Christopher Green
Can you help with fit? I thought i could be just warp in 0 and brawl like that...but with cruises i guess i have to use centries and mjd.
Jack Wright
I remember there used to be something to do with data cores that could be done monthly for passive cash? Did they remove it?
Asher Bailey
I think it's still there but it wasn't any real money before and you can jsut do the same in 10 minutes with hacking sites.
Bentley Allen
Can an aplha clone rat effectively in a vexor/vexor navy issue for some decent isk/h so I can afford to plex an account (or two prefferably because I already have an alt)
Also why are the gallente ship skins all so shit?
