at 90k miles, the rotor seals will fail and coolant will leak into the combustion chamber. Until 80k, the oil will burn quickly causing poor gas mileage. This is on top of already poor gas mileage. No Torque, but high RPM (meh)

Just buy a Miata.
It's almost the same price as an RX8, handles almost the same, has much better aftermarket support, and doesn't come with the expensive rotary upkeep. If you really want a rotary, get an RX7 turbo. RX8 a shit.

It's just so bulbous. All the mazda cars from that era are. Wish I could like the NC miata too, but it's similarly hideous.
