My friend and I really liked KOTOR 1 & 2, but dislike MMOs. I understand that TOR can be played pretty much as a single player game, but we'd prefer to see as few players as possible. Are there any totally dead servers where only a few people are playing at a time? Or are we just going to have to deal with it?
Also, what level of involvement do we have in completing main and side quests together? If we are different classes, can we work together from the beginning, or what?

Not with the way OWPvP works now. You can now choose to be part of a PvE or PvP instance. Apparently that's what killed those servers in the first place.
