It really bothers me that they fuck up the pronounciation of all the Japanese names because "That's what Americans expect." but then they also fuck up "Ahn" even though she doesn't have a Japanese name.
It's like they are deliberately sabotaging the dub.

English actually has all of the same sounds Japanese has, it's much easier for an English speaker to pronounce japanese than the other way around.

Read somewhere that Atlus JP gives them the pronunciations (but not some original voice clips?). I haven't done the dub but I heard separate VAs say "Sakamoto" in the same strange way so I can believe it, but it sounds like they're taking cues from people who don't know what they're doing either just so they can appeal to their authority or something.

I meant voice director not voice actor.
I know for a fact Sugita (Yusuke's VA) can pronounce English with barely an accent but they still say the transliterated versions i.e purusona instead of persona.
